Businesses and apprentices in the Liverpool City Region who have benefitted from Apprenticeship Levy funding have been hearing from some of the big companies who used their unspent levy to fund them. £7m has been transferred so far creating more than 1,200 apprenticeships across the Liverpool City Region.

The key to building a future-ready talent pipeline? A recent WCA healthcare-focused meeting with New York State Department of Labor Commissioner Roberta Reardon highlighted apprenticeships as the potential answer. Registered apprenticeships could transform the healthcare industry by cultivating a locally rooted, highly trained workforce. To date, the Department of Labor has invested $7M in workforce development funds for apprenticeship programs to help regional employers access the tools needed to train and retain talent. EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR CATEGORIES The BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT SME Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award (for organisations with 1 to 249 employees) The QA Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year Award (for organisations with 250+ employees) The Gatsby T Level Employer of the Year Award (New for 2024) Social Justice Employer of the Year Award (Awarded to an organisation which demonstrates the impact they have had in creating opportunities and support for those who are disadvantaged or under-represented) The IfATE Skills Development Partner of the Year Award (Awarded to individuals who have gone the extra mile to develop, approve, review and revise apprenticeships and T Levels in partnership with The Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education).

Director Belitz highlighted the tremendous value of apprenticeships this morning at the Elevate Conference in Kearney. Nebraska’s community colleges play a pivotal role in connecting students to apprenticeships where they can earn, learn, and gain industry credentials.
