International Framework for Nuclear Energy Cooperation (IFNEC) reposted this
USANES 2024 was the largest and most ambitious installment of the organization to date – we are incredibly excited and honored that this year's event was attended by over 600 industry leaders, government representatives, and engaged students! Highlights from USANES24 included the signing of the U.S.-Ghana Commercial Agreement, informative workshop sessions, promising ministerial statements, and impressive dancing. The Summit showcased African countries' motivation to utilize nuclear energy and worked to position African industries' ability to capture the opportunities offered by nuclear energy technologies. High-level participation from the U.S. included honored guests from the White House, Atlantic Council, Nuclear Industry Council, and multiple governmental organizations, while high-level African participation included guests from ministries, regulatory authorities, and the Association of Ghana Industries. Additionally, Director General William D. Magwood, IV from the Nuclear Energy Agency and Director Shaukat Abdulrazak from the IAEA provided invaluable contributions to the proceedings of the Summit. As we reflect on the successes of USANES24 and watch for the ripples of impacts from the Summit to circle the globe, we also look forward to USANES 2025, which will be hosted in Rwanda from June 30th to July 4th. We cannot miss this opportunity to thank the speakers, staff, and participants that made USANES24 the success that it was. Asante sana – thank you all, we could not have done it without you! #usanes #nuclearenergy #industrialreadiness #womeninnuclear
