The @EASPD just published in Ukrainian the position paper "Early Childhood Intervention in the Context of Displacement". It outlines the vital role of Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in supporting families and children, especially those impacted by displacement. It provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of ECI services in several European countries. It provides recommendations for the EU on achieving accessible, high-quality ECI systems to support all children and families, including those from Ukraine. Persons with disabilities often encounter social and institutional exclusions, including limited access to basic social protection services. The COVID-19 pandemic and military coup in 2021 have further exacerbated the existing precarious situation of this group in Myanmar. In our current study, we (I, Minhaz Farid Ahmed, and Muhammad Asaduzzaman) aimed to determine the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and military coup on the well-being and social security of persons with disabilities in Myanmar. Our analysis underscores the importance of researching this group, which can lead to the formulation of more effective humanitarian interventions during crises and beyond while also advocating for the rights and integration of this group in Myanmar’s sustainable development initiatives. This pledge aims to engage relevant stakeholders to ensure that refugee and displaced children and their caregivers have access to quality, holistic, integrated, cultually appropriate trauma informed care. 💡 Child Protection in Humanitarian Action is a crucial endeavour. Children, often comprising at least half of affected populations, confront dire challenges such as displacement, disrupted social services, family breakdowns, and the grave risk of recruitment into armed groups. 🔍 This week, we had the chance to explore the experiences of children in emergencies and the humanitarian response, with a closer look at the complex situation in Ukraine with the students of the Master of Advanced Studies in Children's Rights at the Children's Rights Academy, @Centre interfacultaire en droits de l’enfant (CIDE) – UNIGE, we delve into the. Safeguarding the rights and well-being of children and vulnerable populations has become an urgent global imperative. Recent data from a UN report highlights an alarming 112% surge in attacks on schools and hospitals in 2022, particularly affecting conflict-ridden regions like Afghanistan, Ukraine, Burkina Faso, Israel, Palestine, Myanmar, and Mali. The need to ensure access to education and healthcare for these vulnerable groups is paramount. The international community must unite in its commitment to protect the most innocent and defenseless, providing them with the safety and opportunities they deserve for a brighter future. It is increasingly rare for donors to fund multi-sectoral projects. ODA is often earmarked sectorally, leaving it to recipients to find ways to cover the gaps. This partnership is different. Grateful to the Government of Korea, through KOICA, for recognizing the indivisibility of child rights. This partnership will support health, nutrition, WASH, education & and protection services in two provinces with high levels of child deprivation. #UNICEFthxKOREA
