“We have H20 (water) in this country!” - this is a presidential candidate’s answer to a question about what is he planning to do about the #ClimateChange and Environmental issues 📢🤯 How can we talk about AI Policy and building a better understanding of what is happening in Silicon Valley and the fast developing #tech world? It is not a crisis of #democracy, it is a crisis of a strong #leadership! 🌎 Honestly, I’m inspired by a few foreign governments with young (late 30ties!) state leaders who have the drive, charisma and a STRONG VISION for the #FUTURE. US needs to build breeding grounds for new generation of politicians and government leaders 🌱 I’m not originally from America, can someone explain to my why do we have such a crisis of leadership in the US political elites? 🟦🟥 ~~~ Want to have a conversation? Let’s talk in comments! ♻️ Repost and follow #SiliconValerie 🚀 for more discussions on #AI, #Technology and #Innovation 🧠

As The World Economic Forum's annual meeting at Davos drew to a close last week, Iswe CEO Rich Wilson and Yale Political Scientist Professor Hélène Landemore argued why attendees would do well to back a Global Citizens' Assembly. They held the case for why this could be the best occasion yet to build an ongoing global pillar of governance for the existential issues we face. "A Global Citizens Assembly, in particular, could consider the alleged latest threat to humanity: artificial intelligence. Citizens’ assemblies have demonstrated success and impact in the political world. They have offered a counterweight to the polarising tendencies of conventional politics. There is every reason to believe they could make an impact on corporate governance. This is especially needed given the existentially important issue of AI regulation." 🔥 Tucker Carlson, the former Fox News anchor, openly criticized #transhumanist beliefs at the World Governments Summit (WGS) in Dubai, 2024. He expressed concerns over the notion of using technology to create a superior human, labeling such beliefs as a dangerous lack of self-awareness regarding human limitations. Carlson divided the world into those who see themselves as almost godlike, capable of reshaping human existence through technology, and those who recognize and accept their human limitations, suggesting that true wisdom lies in understanding one's own non-omnipotence. He specifically addressed the enthusiasm for biohacking, the practice of modifying the human body through technology, cautioning against the potentially disastrous outcomes of such endeavors. Although he did not name him directly in his speech, Carlson's critique seemed to target figures like Klaus Schwab, the #WEF World Economic Forum founder and a proponent of #transhumanism, who had spoken at the WGS about integrating technology with human needs and aspirations. Additionally, Carlson touched upon his personal battles with U.S. intelligence agencies, particularly regarding their efforts to block his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He criticized the domestic surveillance conducted by agencies meant to operate internationally and affirmed his commitment to advocating for a free society. 🔥 Does transhumanism have a future? 🌐 Its is important to balance innovation with wisdom: I would advocate for balancing the pursuit of technological innovation with wisdom and ethical consideration. This balance is critical in ensuring that advancements contribute positively to human society without compromising our values or well-being. The goal should be to harness the power of AI and biotechnology in a way that enhances human capabilities and improves quality of life while being mindful of the ethical, social, and existential risks associated. Year 2024—a challenge to Techno-Democratic Order! The world’s two superpowers—China and the US—are competing not only in technology, economy, diplomacy, and politics but also in democracy, particularly in the 2024 Taiwan election. The induced “distrust and polarization of democracies” and an enduring tech battle between these two tech superpowers, along with disinformation from big tech and social media, have been constantly challenging the techno-democratic order. The US—the oldest democracy, India—the largest democracy, and the UK—the champion of parliamentary democracy—as well as other influencing democracies such as Bangladesh, Egypt, Indonesia, Mexico, South Africa, and South Korea, among others, are going to polls in 2024, while the challenges to ‘electoral democracy’ following the risk of disinformation or the influence of AI and ethnic nationalism cannot be undermined. The tech and AI mastery of two high-tech superpowers is not only contributing to tech bipolarity but also navigating the AI world order. They are exploiting technology and digital capabilities to contain or dictate each other and are involved in ‘techno-geopolitics’, while the big tech and social media are engaged in “data colonialism”. Both the tech superpowers are contending to "control billions of data" and "amass millions of tech talents" from around the globe, which could not only tyrannize global economic order but also impend political, social, and democratic order. #2024elections #electoraldemocracy #technosociodemocraticorder #technogeopolitics #disinformation #datacolonialism #aiworldorder #gpacharya

The political pendulum is swinging widely all across the democratic world. People are voting extreme hard right followed by extreme hard left. It is happening in France, the USA, and across South America. The polarising of politics isn't good for anyone as it hints at a deeper malaise - the lack of social cohesion. The lack of social cohesion has dramatic impacts as without a basic agreement of facts - the fundamentals of economics, action on sustainability and climate change and good governance cannot happen. The best governance happens from the middle. We need baseline agreement on what that entails. Link in the comments to have is currently happening in France. Two of the most substantial differences between the days in which our constitutions (even more modern ones such as the German one from 1949) is that these documents were written under the false belief that 1. human decision making is a rational, conscious process and that 2. information travels at a pace digestible for the human mind. The discoveries of Daniel Kahnemann about our irrationally influenceable mind and the ever-accelerating pace in which information spreads without control change everything. In light of these fundamental shifts in axioms on which our laws and systems are based on, we need to urgently respond to prevent the continuation of this misinformation mess that is spiralling out of control from left to right - this is the most up-stream task we as a free world need to solve, all else from climate change to the successful implementation of AI and bio-engineering is a direct function of the above. No good decision making is possible if the decision making processes re corrupted and rotten. #artificialintelligence #misinformation #politics #constitution #democracy
