Why do we learn better in communities? 💎 We’ve found that community learning is a collaborative, intentional, and structured way for a group of individuals to learn together. It has tangible benefits including emotional support, mentorship, networking and drawing from real-world, practical experience. Each time NewCampus runs a sprint, we find great joy seeing everyone learning from everyone else’s story. Today my alarm bleeped at 5am. I could hear the pitter-patter of thick, heavy, Scottish raindrops as I gathered my laptop and headed to my office; careful to dodge rogue deer enroute. Sooooo why the heck was I up and about so early, with only the dark highland sky twinkling above me? To deliver a workshop for The Community Collective, ofc! 🎊 The UK to Australia time difference isn't the most friendly in the world, and sometimes you've gotta do hard things (like deliver a workshop at 6am). Here's why I said yes: - Paz Pisarski is an AMAZING community builder and I ❤️ collaborating with fellow women founders who are building impactful products - It's tricky to tap into ecosystems on the other side of the world. This was an awesome opportunity to expand my network and start planting solid roots in the Aus / NZ scene - Creating workshops always helps me get more clear in my own mind. Untangling concepts. Simplifying thinking. Creating frameworks. This workshop was no exception 🌶️ - Teaching is fun! You get to help share your knowledge and learnings, AND have fun photo momentos like this one 📸 It was a blast, and the barrage of messages post-workshop saying how helpful / novel / clarifying it was makes the 5am start totally worth it. PS: permission to finish early today? Granted ✅ PPS: any guess what my instructions were for the pic? 😅

Engaging with school children through icebreakers is a delightful experience that brings forth moments filled with laughter, enthusiasm, and a chance to reconnect with the exuberance of youth. These interactions transcend mere activities, becoming bridges that span generations and evoke the boundless curiosity and vitality that define youth. In my role at Zav Foundation, I am privileged to work at the grassroots level, where each icebreaker session presents an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution. Interacting with school kids in these activities not only sparks joy and camaraderie but also nurtures connections that run deep. Through our initiatives at Zav Foundation, we strive to empower these young minds, equipping them with skills and experiences that shape their futures positively. Every icebreaker session serves as a platform for building confidence, fostering teamwork, and instilling a passion for exploration and learning. These interactions underscore the profound impact of simple yet meaningful engagements and shared moments of joy. It is in these instances that we discover the essence of effecting change at the grassroots level. Let's continue to embrace the energy and excitement of icebreakers with school kids, for in those moments, we not only connect with our youth but also rediscover the youthful spirit within ourselves. Juliette| Communications Specialist | Project Manager| Climate Justice Advocate | ONE Champion| Education Advocate|Advocate for women empowerment|Jesusbaby
A week ago, I joined Peace First Education Hackathon with other young people around the world who are also passionate about education. When I first saw the call for application, I knew it was what I needed at the point. As an advocate for education, I believe that learning is a continous process. During the three days Hackthon, myself and my co team lead Favour Christiana Ogbuagu-Stephen were opportuned to interact and we learnt extensively on creating smart goals, analyzing the root causes of education related problems especially in underserved communities, we also brainstormed possible solutions that are not only feasible but can create real change. It takes a lot to execute a project but much more to plan a project and during the hackathon I learnt to not try to solve a perceived problem for a community, rather co create a solution with them because they understand their problem much more than we think we do. Co creating a solution with them gives them a sense of ownership and through that real impact is achieved. I’m grateful to our facilitators Olatomiwa OLUSESI , Maureen Alor, Sushmina Baidya and all facilitators who ensured it was engaging, interactive and very enlightening session. If you are a young person passionate about mental health, there is currently another Hackathon scheduled for April, please take advantage of this opportunity. Let’s together co create impactful and innovative solutions for the communities we aim to serve. #Educathon #Educationforall

Mesmerizing! Remembering all my teachers, Gurus, mentors and guides! It is the simplest way, differently they teach/guide us to look at the situation we perceive, to be a better version of ourselves everyday. #HappyTeachersDay
Not just our very first lessons, they also taught us the most important habit: how to learn. Teachers open a whole new 𝚠̶𝚘̶𝚛̶𝚕̶𝚍̶ window of possibilities and opportunities for their students, they are truly a beacon of hope. This Teacher’s Day, let’s celebrate the teachers whose impact left a lasting mark on our lives. #AdityaBirlaGroup #BigInYourLife #WindowToTheWorld #TeachersDay #TeachersDay2023

What do your meal times look like? 🍴🍽️🍴 Every night when my family gathers at the dinner table, my wife and I see a powerful opportunity to spark meaningful conversations with our sons (for the record - it's still very much work in progress!!!). We try to make these conversations go beyond the usual ‘What happened at school today?’. They’re about sharing conversations that constantly instil the belief in our children that they’re highly capable of changing the world around them. 🌎 As parents, there’s so much we can do by just sitting with our children for a couple of minutes every day- ignite our child’s curiosity, encourage dreams, and foster a growth mindset. No matter how brilliantly busy we are, 1 minute can just be the difference in a day. It could create a memorable moment. 🤔 I define a moment like this, as a moment when your views of the world change in a positive way. However, here’s the key - I believe every stakeholder in a child’s journey is essential. Educators, parents, and the wider community are all invaluable sources of inspiration in a child’s holistic development and you never know when a memorable moment could be created. At 8billionideas, this is so important to us. We constantly strive to empower not just every child on this planet but also their teachers, mentors, parents, and everyone who can be unstoppable forces of positive change in a student’s life. We do this by making sure everyone in the team is aware, that in any engagement with a child, we could create a powerful moment for them at any time. So seize every opportunity to be at your best! 💡💡💡 We’re proud to have empowered over 500,000 students in 20+ countries in the last 12 months with our forward-thinking approach to education to date. We can't wait to continue to build on this and create thousands of memorable moments for students across the world. 🗣️ I can't guarantee a memorable moment at the dinner table this evening, but we will try! 🙏🏻

I build async learning programs for nonprofits 🎓 college access & success | workforce development | career-connected learning
How did we make this college success program NOT feel like yet another course? We tapped program alums, now young professionals in the field, to share their post-program journeys. Scholars felt seen, supported, and inspired for the road ahead. When you're developing a course at your organization, how do you bring your community into the process?
