💕Loving all the plaudits for Miley Cyrus after her 2024 Grammys performance.💕 It got me thinking, can we look at Miley’s journey in the music industry in the same light as many of us have been through as recruiters? 1. The new hire - bright, bushy tailed, makes a great impression, gets some early billings on the board and is one to watch. 2. The middle phase! Picks up some bad habits and tries to go against the grain. Looks to forego the rules (KPIs, skipping parts of the process, goes to work after a few nights out!!) does ok, but hasn’t carved out a long term career as yet. 3. Realises that processes allow you to work smarter, not harder. Combines their unique personality, experience and knowledge with a proven formula for success. Becomes THE consultant, the one everyone wants to listen to in team meetings and everyone wants to emulate on the leaders board. ⭐️Some get there quicker than others (it’s taken Miley 15 years to win a Grammy!) but stick to it long enough, learn from your mistakes, and master the process behind the personality, and you too could be in your flowers era!⭐️ Think about it - which Miley phase are you currently in? 🎙️

How is Led Zepplin connected to professional sales? During July, I had the pleasure of coaching an amazing team of SDRs at #infotechresearchgroup, led by Camilo Silva, Andrew Bourque, Harpreet Arora and Ben Fletcher. They help IT leaders build successful IT departments with extensive research and advisory services. This Canadian success story has become a global powerhouse in this space. Their Toronto office is what many know as the Masonic Temple or the Toronto Concert Hall. It's spectacular. They have maintained the concert venue and still run concerts each weekend. The rock and roll theme runs through the entire office, with memorabilia from the amazing rock legends playing Concert Hall, including The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, and my favorite, Led Zepplin. Unbelievably, Zepplin played here August 18th, 1969. They preserved the spot where Zepplin guitarist Jimmy Page meditated before the show. It's under glass. Colin, isn't there anything about hospitals you don't research if it doesn't come to you? 😁😊😉. I come across an article about how the John Hopkins Hospital talks to millions of social media audiences. And I know that the top ranked hospitals like the Mayo Clinic and even the Tampa Bay General Hospital are always on LinkedIn every day or every night. Hmm, interesting. I study and research them and other hospitals who are always on LinkedIn and other social media. How their spokespeople or face of the hospital talk to and with audiences on social media, 😊 🤓.
