Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC)’s Post

[IHPC25] #didyouknow that removable partial dentures (RPD) are not only widely accepted but also considered a cost-effective treatment for oral function? With Singapore's population rapidly aging, there's an increasing demand for RPD treatment. Recognising the need to improve the fabrication process for RPDs, researchers from A*STAR’s Institute of High Performance Computing (IHPC) collaborated with dental clinician scientists from the National Dental Centre Singapore to develop Smart RPD. This innovative software is designed to intelligently streamline the denture design process, reduce chairside time, minimise technical errors, and enhance communication between clinicians and dental laboratories. Currently, Smart RPD has been successfully implemented at the NDCS clinic and introduced as part of a pilot program at a community dental clinic. This initiative will allow approximately 200 patients to directly experience the advantages of the system, paving the way for enhanced dental care in Singapore.
