During an interview, the legendary bass player, Leland Sklar, described a novel mechanism he designed and installed on his beautiful Warwick bass. He explains, “I call it my ‘Producer Switch’. If I’m doing a session and the producer doesn’t like the tone, he asks me to get a different sound. I make sure he sees me flip this switch and then I just change my hand position a little bit, and they love it. But there’s no wires or anything that go to this switch. It’s a placebo.” It is 2024. Are there any MarTech placebos out there that marketers can use to assuage clueless senior leadership? #uxdesign #usability #userexperience #marketingstrategy #digitalmarketing #contentstrategy #uitrends #branding

"What is particularly important when leading an SE team?" Admittedly, 7-8 years ago I would only have been able to name a fraction of the topics that are important. But you only really realise this when you have the opportunity to lead an SE team yourself. And I was given this opportunity at Qualtrics and successfully built up the SE team in the DACH region from scratch. Although I had been interested in a leadership role for some time, I didn't know exactly what to expect at first. In the beginning, it's probably like any other new role: you instinctively do a lot of things right, you overlook others and sometimes you fall flat on your face. Especially in day-to-day business, it's always important for me to provide a certain structure so that everyone in the team can work successfully. My notes, which I look at regularly, have long helped me with this. But they've never looked nice! Today is the day! I've turned my notes into a cheat sheet, which I hope will be of great help to some of you. #cheatsheet #presales #leadership #semanager

Check out our recap of the interactive presentation we led with Sherry Eckholm and Mark Guarraia!! Ecosystem Design: Charting Sustainable Growth in Evolving Markets In today’s fast-evolving markets, design leaders are pivotal in steering businesses, communities, and technological advances toward sustainable growth by emphasizing the human experience at the core of their strategies. Ecosystem design, a critical approach to business development, delves into the complex relationships between systems, services, and user interactions to offer a holistic view of touchpoints across the customer journey. This approach highlights the interconnectedness of complex systems and services by exploring how each element interacts and impacts the overall customer experience. While practitioners may not specialize in all areas, their broad design expertise enables them to forge impactful, human-centered experiences that bridge various disciplines. From a recent DMI presentation, key insights underscore the significance of interdisciplinary collaboration in design. This collaboration enables the creation of experiences that are not only impactful but also deeply rooted in emotional understanding, user engagement, data-driven insights, ethical practices, and a commitment to sustainability. Critical Questions for Future Ecosystem Design Developing robust ecosystems requires addressing challenging questions that not only evaluate current practices but also encourage deep contemplation about the future of ecosystem design. Such reflection can lead to the creation of more resilient, efficient, and user-centric systems, poised to thrive in future technological and organizational landscapes. Managing Disruption: How can we mitigate risks in ecosystems where stagnation hampers change, and evolution brings unforeseen disruptions? Building a "Forever Ecosystem": As ecosystems evolve, what strategies can ensure their long-term care and relevance? Understanding the Ecosystem Layers: How can we enhance our understanding and integration of an ecosystem's various layers to improve user experiences? The Role of AI: What impact will AI have on human-centered ecosystems, especially concerning their self-design capabilities and the reliability of data used? Invisible Ecosystems: Could the most effective app be no app at all? Exploring the concept of invisible ecosystems challenges us to think about whether overt interfaces are necessary when seamless integration into daily life can be more effective. These questions guide us as we continue to refine and advance our approach to ecosystem design, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful in an ever-changing world. Read a summary on here:
Ecosystem design, an essential approach to business development, focuses on the intricate interconnections between systems, services, and user interactions, ensuring a holistic perspective on touchpoints throughout the user journey. Effective ecosystem design necessitates a user-centric approach, with deep research into user behaviors and needs forming the foundation of all design decisions. Gregor Mittersinker, Sherry Eckholm, and Mark Guarraia led the conversation at the DMI 2024 conference. Here is a recap of the event and some takeaways: https://lnkd.in/eBC-ZD3H #DMI #Boston #design #leadership #conference #loftdesign

"Serving with Purpose: Leadership Begins with Humility" I’m currently attending the Main Street Summit in Columbia, Missouri, and it’s been a great experience so far! My business partner and I have connected with inspiring leaders, met up with friends, and attended some insightful sessions. One speaker in particular, a leader and innovator in healthcare, shared a quote that resonated with me: “In the early days, we had to earn the privilege to serve.” It’s such a simple yet profound reminder for all of us. Whether in healthcare, tech, or any industry, we must approach our work with humility and dedication. Success comes from serving the right way—by offering genuine value and solving real problems for our clients. At Parux, we don’t believe in entitlement. We work hard to earn the trust of every client we serve, partnering with them to build impactful digital solutions. Parux.com - Proud to be part of a team that embodies this ethos every day. #Leadership #EarnTheRightToServe #ClientSuccess #DigitalInnovation #Parux #MainStreetSummit #HumbleLeadership #GrowthThroughService #PE30 collaborate and make a difference.

#NewFounderStory with an expertise in organizational scale. Today's topic: The Team Dream. My mother sent me a passage from a leadership book this morning. It immediately sparked thought in how I successfully build aligning and overachieved goals in the various GTM orgs I've scaled over the years. 1. Understand each team member's unique goal, purpose, and passion 2. Create one common goal, an organizational business outcome, for all GTM teams to come together on: one team, one goal. AND align each individual goal (#1) to allow each person to see how they positively (or negatively) impact achievement. 3. Curate a safe culture where teams respect each other, give frequent feedback from all levels, accountability, and 100% participation in being part of the solution - it's not just personal, we impact those around us. Along with my 5 pillar model which i have mentioned, this is how I have achieved #1 engagement survey results within the entire org across my teams, over 95% and well above industry average; 90% voluntary retention; and overachievement of quota. It starts with aligning personal to business. #SaaS #Culture #GTM #Quota #leadership
