🗣️ Your "headrest" is not meant for resting your head! In fact, your head restraint is a critical safety device designed to prevent injuries in a common crash scenario. Marcy Edwards, senior research engineer at IIHS, explains why this device is there and why spending a moment to properly adjust yours is essential.

Funny, nobody knows the functions of the safety devices in vehicles, active or passive. Driving schools don't even teach the basics, yes, seat belts, there are this and that. But the consequences of ignoring the functions and settings are not explained. It starts with how you sit and ends with the manners warning system. It's sad that this isn't included in the exam questions. Training in these areas would definitely be good, it should be carried out by experts who have helped to develop these things or who have real knowledge of them. But it costs money. It should be compulsory so that the future generation doesn't just rely on ADAS systems in vehicles.

Excellent educational explanation! Thanks for sharing!
