University of Arkansas academic colleges offer 92 online degree, certificate and licensure programs. They're among the top-rated by the U.S. News & World Report! Online bachelor’s degrees at the U of A climbed seven spots to No. 28 in the nation, some climbed to No. 24 of 190 public universities and to No. 16 in the “Programs for Veterans” sub-category. The College of Engineering held No. 42 in the nation for “Best Online Programs” in the graduate engineering category. U of A master’s degrees in engineering ranked 33 among 85 public institutions. While looking for information about engineering career search, I stumbled into a TED Talk by Dr. Stephan Athan. He explains how crucial it is for us as a society to change the way we educate our youth, in order to prepare them for the transition between higher education and the workforce. He mentions that it is essential for future engineers to challenge themselves with new projects, that will get their creativity out and will improve their problem-solving skills. https://lnkd.in/dv4dXw3e

U.S. News & World Report has once again ranked our graduate program as one of the nation's best! The ISE program was recently ranked No. 23 among the 2024 Best Public Graduate Programs. U.S. News and World Report, which ranks graduate programs nationally each spring, designated Auburn Engineering No. 31 among public institutions when its annual list was released in June. Auburn Engineering’s graduate programs continued its upward trajectory in the annual rankings among public institutions, climbing 10 spots in the past five years. Auburn Engineering’s graduate programs were ranked No. 5 overall in the Southeastern Conference and, again, No. 1 in the state. #Auburn #EngineeringExcellence

Watch here: https://lnkd.in/e9WT2t-S Christina's presentation covered some of the Academy's interventions to address the challenges in Engineering at company level, university level and internally, as well as some examples of positive interventions. ◾ Culture+ for small and emerging companies, an EDI platform to build everyday habits to create inclusive cultures. ◾ GEEP – Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme which supports UK engineering graduates from diverse background and under-represented groups into employment. ◾ Amazon Future Engineer Bursary programme supports women student from low-income households studying computer sciences or engineering related courses. ◾ Diversity Impact Programme to inspire change in university engineering departments for students from diverse backgrounds. Embedding D&I across the Academy e.g. ◾ One Action Plan to look at the applicant journey through the fellowship programme to look at systemic barriers at the different stages. ◾ Embed and Share Good Practice. ◾ Measure, monitor and evaluate. ◾ Research Fellowship annual call implemented enhanced positive action measures to make applicant pool more diverse. Limit to 2 applications from Universities plus 2 from women, disabled and/or Black ethnic groups, initial indicators of progress, but evolving and limited data. ◾ Implemented Access mentoring which aims to provide additional support from under-represented groups applying to Academy research grant schemes. #EDI #STEM
