Today is an important day for us at IKEA ! We launched our FY24 Sustainability and Climate Reports, highlighting the collaborative efforts of stakeholders across the IKEA value chain, towards making IKEA more affordable, accessible, and sustainable. In FY24, we reduced our absolute climate footprint by 5% compared to FY23. Compared to our baseline year FY16, this is a 28% reduction in absolute emissions. We are encouraged by the progress in reducing emissions relative to our volume growth, as we continue working hard towards decoupling growth from emissions. At the same time, we know there is still much work ahead to reach our FY30 goal of halving emissions and we’re fully committed to the journey! We are also launching our FY30 Climate Roadmap (integrated in the climate report) illustrating our plans to meet our FY30 climate commitments. This is a plan which we intend to iterate on based on internal and external industry movements. Some key themes from our FY24 climate journey include: ·  Renewable energy scale-up: We made significant progress in expanding renewable energy adoption across the IKEA value chain– including manufacturing, transport and logistics services and retail operations. Energy efficiency was a key focus area for energy and cost savings. Today, we also launch wave 3 of our renewable electricity program, encouraged by the response of our supplier partners to the preceding two waves.   · Materials : Efforts to increase the share of recycled and renewable materials remained a strong focus. We also worked on using materials more efficiently and developing products with a lower climate footprint—with several exciting examples highlighted in our report.   ·Transport: We continued our big focus on electrification, intermodal transport, exploration and scaling up of alternate fuels and speeding up renewable electricity adoption in warehouses, DCs.   · Food : We expanded our plant-rich food offer with new dishes and investment in innovative ingredients, including introducing a hybrid patty PANNBIFF in Sweden with 50% minced beef and 50% plant-based protein   · Clean air : From the parts of the IKEA value chain where we have gather location specific activity data, we reduced pollutants such as PM2.5 by 10% , NMVOC by 8% decrease and NOx by 6% , all compared to FY23   These steps wouldn’t be possible without the commitment and collaboration of all IKEA co-workers and stakeholders across the whole IKEA value chain. Happy to share our Sustainability report that shows our actions and progress in the different areas of Sustainability and I am proud of all the good work done in the focus area Fair & Equal.   This year, we have taken steps to improve working conditions and secure human rights.  Increasing protections for migrant workers through a partnership with International Organization for Migration (IOM) to drive systematic change starting with our supply chain  Introducing additional requirements in IWAY to protect seafarers’ labour rights at sea, improving working conditions and wellbeing  Reporting for the first time on road safety to promote transparency and take action on improvements, playing our part in reaching the UN Sustainable Development Goal target to reduce road fatalities and injuries, by half, by 2030.    Launching a new global collection created with eleven social businesses, securing 10,000 jobs for people from vulnerable and marginalised groups around the world.    Through our partnership with UNICEF, we’re also incorporating the perspectives of young people on climate mitigation and adaptation into our approach to a just transition and climate action.    We continued to advance our family friendly policies, gender balance and responsible wage practices for IKEA co-workers. We also continue to assess working conditions among our suppliers, improving access to decent and meaningful work across our value chain.   

I'm pleased to share the release of the IKEA Sustainability Report FY24 and IKEA Climate Report FY24. These reports highlight our collaborative efforts across the IKEA business to deliver on our commitment to sustainability. Our business direction is clear. We want to make IKEA more affordable, accessible, and sustainable, including for people with thin wallets. As part of this journey, last year we took two big steps - we lowered prices by an average of 10% across all markets and made steady progress on our sustainability agenda. ↘️ We have reduced our climate footprint by 5% compared to last year and by 28% compared to our baseline year of FY16, seeing a positive movement towards decoupling growth from our greenhouse gas emissions. We've achieved this through increased renewable energy use, improved energy efficiency, and transport electrification. ♻️ Materials account for nearly half of our climate footprint. In our climate roadmap for FY30, we have outlined specific actions we are taking to increase recycled materials, accelerate material efficiency and drive innovation to reduce emissions. ☑️ We've also enhanced our supplier code of conduct, IWAY, addressing new aspects such as seafarers' rights and animal welfare, as well as social and environmental aspects in agriculture. This year, IKEA stores welcomed nearly 900 million visitors, and sales amounted to EUR 45.1 billion. Using our scale and reach, we aim to inspire and engage with our customers, staying true to our vision by making sustainable living affordable for as many people as possible. Exciting news from IKEA! 🌿🏠 IKEA's parent company, Ingka Group, is making a bold move towards sustainability with a €1.5 billion investment to phase out fossil fuels in their stores' heating and cooling systems. This is a significant step towards their goal of reducing their climate footprint by 85% by 2030! Key highlights: • €1.5 billion invested in energy efficiency and renewable heating/cooling tech • Retrofitting 150 existing properties • All new units to be built with renewable heating and cooling As Jesper Brodin, CEO of Ingka Group, aptly puts it: "The future of energy must be renewable, and this additional investment will enable us to reduce our carbon emissions, increase efficiency and lower costs in the long term.
