Did you know.... ·        There's an urgent need to not only continue the support of holiday activities in underserved communities but to expand the reach of such programmes ·        Children receiving benefits related Free School Meals attended a Time2Move Holiday Programme an average of five times in 2023 ·        Almost 2,000 children registered with SEND requirements in Cornwall took part in 2023 ·        268 different activities were organised throughout the county in 2023 ·        There are more than 16,000 children in Cornwall eligible for Free School Meals Holiday activities help to: 1) Bridge the inequalities gap 2) Increase engagement in physical activity 3) Support school readiness 4) Provide safe spaces 5) Support positive mental wellbeing #HolidaysMatter

🎄 What do Christmas and Master Data have in common? At first glance, absolutely nothing—but that's not entirely true. Here's how data can make a real difference in spreading holiday cheer. For years, my wife has been a dedicated volunteer with Christmas Help North Zealand (https://lnkd.in/dR_er3ZX), an organization providing Christmas support to families struggling to meet the expectations of the season—especially the joy of children receiving presents. Every year, the pressure mounts as society pours billions into holiday spending, while an increasing number of families feel left behind. Over time, the number of families seeking assistance towards this organization has more than doubled, creating significant challenges in managing the critical information needed to help the families. Think about it: coordinating family data, children's wishes, sizes for clothing and shoes, Christmas calendars, food baskets, and even organizing donors and drivers to distribute the collected items—all while relying on Excel sheets and notebooks. This manual process, while heartfelt, was an enormous task for a small group of passionate volunteers. Witnessing this firsthand, I knew it didn’t have to be this hard. Systems exist to streamline such processes, so I reached out to www.Struct.com and asked if they could donate a basic license to their platform. Though Struct is typically marketed as a PIM (Product Information Management) system, I see it as a Master Data Management powerhouse—perfect for centralizing and coordinating all this critical information. This year, with Struct at the helm, the organization is supporting over 100 families and 180+ children, and the process has been smoother than ever. Volunteers now have a single source of truth, the ability to identify missing information at a glance, and the time to focus on what matters most: helping families in need. A heartfelt thank you to the Struct team for their incredible generosity and innovation. Your platform has been a game-changer in ensuring that every family receives the support they need this Christmas. We’re sure you can’t have failed to see us talking about our brand new #ReimaginingParks campaign and our HUGE ambition to transform #Bristol and #Bath’s parks and green spaces to tackle the barriers that are currently shutting out 200,000 people. This is what we’re aiming to do in the next 12 months: ☀️ Create one exemplar park in both Bristol and Bath that is fully accessible to cater for all physical disabilities and differences ☀️ Develop a programme of accessible and enjoyable activities, such as sensory walks, supported play sessions, family activities and accessible gardening, in every neighbourhood in Bristol and Bath to support 2,000 people; ☀️ Have one exemplar park in each city redesigned by a woman, with safety in mind and the introduction of female-focused activities and facilities. ☀️ Expand our Roots to Wellbeing* GP-referral programme for people with mental health issues to two new areas of health deprivation in Bristol and Bath, to support 100 people each year. ☀️ Adapt our Roots to Wellbeing programme to provide regular out of hours activities, such as a summer programme of community gardening, and activities for families, to support 100 people in employment and 100 young people struggling with their mental or physical health. That’s why it’s so important to take time out to breathe, recuperate and reenage with life outside your usual work and home life bubble.
