I find it interesting that Marriott has decided to enter the market of all-inclusive hotels in Mexico, a segment that has grown a lot in recent years and that offers a wide variety of options for travelers looking for comfort, fun and security. However, I also believe that international hotel chains have a long way to go to get closer to the experience offered by some of the local brands, which have been operating and perfecting this business model for more than 15 years. According to an article https://lnkd.in/gvB73eE4 hotel chains have begun an aggressive expansion strategy in Mexico through acquisitions, alliances and conversions, aimed at the all-inclusive, a segment that since before the pandemic had acquired great appeal, but that in the face of the fall of other markets and the new preferences of travelers has become more relevant. However, it also recognizes that local brands have a competitive advantage, as they know the market, culture and customer expectations better. Either / or ….. It will be interesting to see how this develops in the coming years and what impact it will have on the tourist, economic and social development of the country. I think it is an opportunity for local brands to strengthen and differentiate themselves, offering unique and authentic value propositions that reflect the cultural, natural and gastronomic richness of Mexico.
