No, most of our businesses are people… people are the capital. Well, if people are hired and trained and managed by the HR team, then awards like the one this company has earned mean the people who recruited, hired, and trained those people -quite simply built the success of the organization. A week ago I was in beautiful Riga to celebrate my mom’s 80+ birthday. As we walked around town, talked and did medical check ups and other things, I realized that seniors and young children have quite a few things in common: 👣 Both children and seniors need “friendly cities”, that are walkable, have places to sit and take a break, and have good public transport systems with vehicles that are easy to get onto. ☂️ Both children and seniors need trained workforce - educators, social workers, home nurses - to help primary caregivers care for them. Adults may easily burn out both emotionally and economically when caring for their children or parents alone. 🧡 Both children and seniors benefit when health providers are not just competent but also humane, when they do not dismiss them or make fun of their “childish ways” but treat them with respect. Have you also noticed such similarities? What else do seniors and young children have in common, that should be considered when designing public-wide services? 🛠️

𝐀: Intake Specialist – 23 years – I schedule the assessment appointments so a lot of times I am the first contact a family has with Juliette’s House. I always try to make sure I am sensitive to how they are feeling and to answer all their questions which can help alleviate any fear they might have about coming to Juliette’s House. 𝐐: What do you wish people understood about children? 𝐀: I wish people knew what a difference it makes to children if you tell them frequently that you love them.  𝐐: What do you do to take the best care of yourself?
