Read the interview below:   FBGS Three months have passed – or a hundred days – since you started at FBGS. How would you summarize your work and life in the company? Robert “Challenging, friendly, fulfilling. Back to the beginning. As the vacancy was published it felt like the only thing missing on it was my name. It matched my skills, my expectations and the accomplishments I wanted to achieve. But more importantly a friend recommended the company. So, I applied and accepted the position. A few weeks later, I knew that joining FBGS was the right decision: The company is flexible, the team is extremely friendly and focuses on long-term goals.”   FBGS What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced so far? Robert “I regret a little that the training time with my predecessor has been so short. I wish we had some more time to go over the projects. But at the same time, I realize that sometimes you do not have the privilege to even meet the person. Figuring things out on my own or together with the team belongs to the challenges I had to overcome.”   FBGS What was the most unexpected you have experienced so far? Robert “The team event in March took us to the kart track. At the end of the sessions and race, I was declared second fastest driver! If you’re trying to hire a surgeon, you most definitely need to thoroughly vet a candidate’s technical and functional skills. But, for many jobs, you need to be much more flexible when evaluating candidates. If you’re sitting across the table from a person who wants to work at your company and is smart, trainable, and trustworthy, you should seriously consider hiring that person. You can train people. Many of the folks I’ve hired at Arrowhead had no recruiting experience before joining the firm, and they’re doing great. It can be done! Here's my hiring philosophy: We do not care if you have industry experience.
