Behind every successful film, for sure there is a bunch of unexpected challenges. In my latest feature film, we faced a unique problem. Rather I’d call it a hiccup! The script, which we were in love with, was 12 minutes too long for the festival we had our eye on. We were stuck. What could we cut? We sat down, ate some pizza, and watched the whole movie while carefully analyzing scene by scene to see the lag that we could knock off. We looked for scenes that were repetitive, didn't move the story forward or felt out of place. We made tough decisions, cutting moments we genuinely loved. It was heartbreaking. But the result was worth it. The film was streamlined and more impactful. The lesson? Challenges are always not as simple as they seem; not necessarily complicated either! And there are no short cuts when you are conscious about the quality and the results! They're sometimes sparked by misunderstanding or miscommunication too! And the only way out? Communication. P.S:- So, what’s your recent challenge that turned into your biggest win? Do let me know in the comments! _______________________________________________________ #filmmaking #directorslife #producerdiaries #moviemagic #behindthescenes #cinemaart #indiefilms #filmindustry #moviemakers #cinematography #boxofficehits #filmproduction #screenwriting #moviepremiere #filmcrew #upcomingmovies #filmdirectors #movieproducers #hollywoodinsider #bollywoodbuzz

On “Wings Of Desire” Cinematic Arthouse; This is the greatest Arthouse Film ever written, produced, directed and a masterclass in performance. Definitely one of the most authentic cinematic pieces. NB: If you need any illustrations on the importance of refraining from imposed and coerced cinematism, while also unmasking a superlative intelligence on truthful balance between text and picture, watch Wings of Desire. The Film in detail contains some allegorical elements that are quite engaging, that’s if you’re deeply immersed in poetry, story and the meaning of pictures. The below scene is one of the best reveals in Cinematic History. This scene is flawlessly and wholly human. "Every person is a universe all by itself, if you listen to their thoughts." “Wings of Desire (1987, Wim Wenders)”. #Screenwriting #Film #TV #Television #Visual #Storytelling #WingsOfDesire #Arthouse #Cinema #Cinematic #Cinematism #Movies #Scene #ScriptedContent #Fiction

One of the most important things to take into consideration before you start the production of you short film is the location in where it takes place, so here are some insights that will help you to create an exceptional short film: - Choosing fantastic locations adds production value without spending lots of money. It has a big impact on how the film looks and feels for the audience. - For residential properties, Airbnb and VRBO are great platforms. - Focus on locations that you can get for low or no cost, they are one of the areas you can usually save a lot of money. - The best locations are ones that you have full reign over and don’t have to worry about people coming in and out of. - The less travel or company moves you have to do the better. One of the best short films I’ve ever done was shot in a single location. The Official Movie Poster for my upcoming short film, Vibrations. 🍿🎬🎥 It is a 10 minute silent short film (no dialogue) about a young woman who wakes up to find her early morning haunted by an ominous buzzing noise. The film was written in the Winter months of 2024 as part of the Free Film School’s Writing Programme. I took the programme very seriously as it was an opportunity for me to get back into my writing, and ultimately, my creative groove. We deliberately leaned into the idea of making a low-budget film. The film has one character, takes place in one location, used a Canon 250D starter camera, two lenses, one strong light and practicals, a one-take-wonder etc. We invested a lot of time and energy into the sound design and editing to uplift the production value as much as possible. Writing and directing a film is extremely challenging. Therefore, I am extremely thankful and grateful to my team and all those who motivated and assisted me on this journey. Special shoutout to the support and mentorship from @freefilmschool. Could not have done it without you. ❤️ I’m very happy with the final film, and feel I am ready to take my filmmaking to another level 🔥💪🏾 Please also follow the film’s page for more information about the crew and our production process: @vibrations_short_film The film will be released on YouTube on the 24/01/2025 on the @freefilmschool page. Save the date and get ready! #movieposter #film #releasedate #shortfilm #upcomingfilm #akathecinephile #silentfilm #psychologicalthriller #writing #filmcrew #vibrationsshortfilm #filmmaking #editing #sounddesign #canon #creative #creativity #lowbudgetfilm

" passion , Lights , Camara, Action " ** Role 1** Films are made in many countries around the world, and India's position in this is significant. Compared to Hollywood, our country's film industry is not small. However, unlike Hollywood and many other countries, our industry lacks modern resources as well as educated and trained technicians. I believe that many people have the skills, and there are good technicians, but not in sufficient numbers. If someone wants to learn something, they often cannot because there is a long waiting list. In America, many universities have separate courses on film, and interested students can study their favorite subjects related to film there. Perhaps this facility is now available in our country too. There are some books on film available in our country, but they are written in English, and many people cannot read or understand English. Our country has been deprived of this facility for many years, and I would like books to be written in Hindi so that those who are weak in English can read the books in Hindi and enhance their knowledge. #FilmEducation #FilmTheory #FilmHistory #Cinematography #Screenwriting #FilmMakin #FilmStudies #Directing #FilmCriticism #FilmAnalysis #IndieFilm #FilmProduction #FilmEditing #VisualEffects #FilmSchool #FilmTechniques #FilmTrivia #DocumentaryFilm #FilmFestival #FilmIndustry #FilmClassics #MovieMaking #ShortFilms #FilmInnovation #CinemaArt

What Can Jackson Pollock Teach Us About Film & TV? https://ift.tt/52SAl38 Art history is the culmination of something that has a foggy beginning. First, we painted on cave walls. Then, as time went on, we developed, practiced, and made the world our canvas. We painted on churches, canvases, brick walls, and even our bodies. As art transformed and shifted mediums, things got expensive. Artists like Manet, Da Vinci, and Michelangelo needed wealthy patrons to make the dreams in their head come true. Now, portraits and more traditional art was always easier to fund, but by the early 1900s rolled around, and Jackson Pollock wanted his go, things got a little dicey. Check out this video from Nerdwriter for more on the evolution of art! What Can Jackson Pollock Teach Us About Film & TV? So what does this have to do with film and filmmaking? I believe we are on the cusp of another era that will define film moving forward. Much like Pollock, abstract expressionist and other modern artists had to struggle to be accepted by the aristocracy and patrons, so are the newest forms of filmmaking and television struggling for mainstream acceptance...and pay. The DGA just announced they won't honor movies that release day and date, which feels shortsighted given streaming is where all the work has gone. Places like Quibi are breaking up content into 8-15 minute chunks so they're more digestible, and YouTube is the second most visited site on the internet. Business is changing. Everyone sees streaming coming and the "feud" between Spielberg and Netflix caused many people to question if old Hollywood had grown out of touch. We're at the brink of our own Pollock era. I have no idea what's coming next, except to say it feels like we're going to create most content to be viewable on phones or as events for theatrical release. Whatever the case may be, I encourage you to keep chasing your ideas and see how Pollock and the evolution of our art can inspire your next works. What's next? How Location and Visual Motifs Tell the Story in 'Widows' Steve McQueen's heist thriller Widows incorporates the city of Chicago in amazing ways, teaching us how setting can be an important character in a film.
