CORTEN FACADES While these facades bring a beautiful, weathered aesthetic, there’s a common challenge to keep in mind - rust runoff. As rain hits the panels, the rust can run off and stain surfaces below, such as pavements, columns, or other architectural elements. Not part of your design plan? Here are a few ways to manage it: - Pre-weathered steel: while this option can minimize the impact, be mindful that some runoff may still occur. - Place plants or ground cover that can handle rust runoff without affecting the aesthetic of your design. - Consider where Corten is installed and ensure that areas prone to staining aren't critical design elements. Remember, integrating Corten can add a dynamic element to your facade, but being mindful of its impact ensures your design remains clean and intentional. #corten #facades #rust #solutions #architecture

Same is true about copper! There is no copper alloy that doesn’t change first to brown then to green, and they all stain the materials below them!
