This is energy productivity in action - getting more value from every unit of energy we consume. NEXTDC, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Equinix all have DC's which are often right next to aquatic centres, hospitals, airports, hotels, shopping centres etc all needing to decarbonise their heating and lower their costs. What an opportunity. Is this something for EnergyLab? Or an Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) kickstart? #energyproductivity #districtheating #decarbonisation https://lnkd.in/gkm6Cieb

🇫🇷 The Paris 2024 Olympics are setting a new standard for sustainability! With a focus on reducing carbon impact, every aspect of the event is designed for efficiency: from LED lighting that cuts energy use by 80% to a floating solar farm on the Seine River. The Games will be powered by 100% renewable electricity from six wind and two solar farms in France. The 400m² floating solar farm on the Seine generates enough electricity to power around 30 two-bedroom apartments in the Village. A photovoltaic carport spanning nearly 1,000m² provides self-generated electricity to the bus station and international delegations' reception center. These installations not only highlight the future of sustainable energy but will also be repurposed after the Games to inspire ongoing change. It is great to hear about the steps Allegiant Stadium has taken to reduce the emissions and waste that are produced during games held here. I can't wait to hear what they do next. Could it be power purchase agreements for renewable energy, introducing reuse systems for food and beverage, free public transport for those with tickets, how many EV chargers are in the parking lots, are the parking lots covered in solar, and what steps do they take to reduce water usage? It is so powerful to hear inspiring stories like this. I hope more stadiums are inspired to take steps to reduce emissions and waste at their venues. What will happen next? #sustainability #emissionsreduction #emissionsmanagement #wastemanagement #reducereuserecycle #energyefficiency #superbowl #allegiantstadium
