Think you know your #IllinoisTech history? Before merging with the Armour Institute in 1940, Illinois Tech was originally the “Lewis Institute,” a school founded in 1895 by Allen C. Lewis. The merger combined the strengths of both institutions, fostering innovation and excellence in education, and setting the stage for Illinois Tech to become a leading university in science, engineering, humanities, architecture, business, and law. "When it comes to housing, I think we’re not going to see not a lot of new supply built... It will take time, and governments who are incentivized to give new loans and rezoning will assist in these developments." - Jon Gray NYU School of Professional Studies #WeAreSPS #NYURealEstate #NYUSchack #NYUREIT24 ©Myaskovsky: Courtesy of NYU Photo Bureau

VP & ED @ Forsyth Tech Foundation | Advocate for Equitable Philanthropic Education | Philanthropy Nerd | Consultant
I've been sharing with donors and prospective donors this week that Forsyth Technical Community College has been certified as an Achieving the Dream Leader College. The most common question has been, what does that mean? Short Answer: This is a recognition of the impact Forsyth Tech has made and continues to make by embracing and emboldening our institutions Trailblazing Spirit. Long Answer: Being a Forsyth Tech Trailblazer means being part of a dynamic and forward-thinking community that values innovation, inclusion, and success. Trailblazers at Forsyth Tech are students and learners who are actively engaged in shaping their futures through education and personal development. They are driven, ambitious, and determinated to succeed, not just in their academic pursuits but also in their future careers and contributions to community empowerment and transformation. As Trailblazers, students faculty and staff at Forsyth Tech are encouraged to push boundaries, explore new ideas, and embrace opportunities for growth and learning. They are part of an institution that supports their journey towards achieving their goals, while offering the tools, resources, and guidance needed to navigate their educational and career paths successfully. Forsyth Tech's commitment to being "A Place of Promise" is an integral component of the Trailblazer ethos. Striving to provide an environment where every student is empowered to forge their own path, overcome obstacles, and reach their full potential. This includes providing equitable access to education, fostering a culture of excellence, and preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the modern world. In essence, being a Trailblazer at Forsyth Tech means being an active participant in a journey of transformation – personally, academically, and professionally – in an environment that champions innovation, inclusivity, and success. That is how we lead and why this recognition is an honor.
Have you heard?! Forsyth Tech has been named 1 of 10 colleges in the US as an Achieving the Dream LEADER COLLEGE! We celebrated through drone photo at our faculty & staff All Team Day! Thanks to all the elected officials and others who came to celebrate with us! #APlaceOfPromise

A ran a second simulation using just using historical win rates and no other data, and the Badgers won again. Interesting. But to make this a bit more scientific, and less chaotic, I've added the KenPom ratings for each team to the historical results, and re-ran the results to weigh these metrics assessing team strength (and the variance between the ratings). Here is the updated output: There are a lot of upsets in the first round. #3 seed Creighton, #4 Alabama, #5 St. Marys, #6 Clemson, #6 Texas Tech, #7 Washington St. and #8 FAU bow out. The second round sees the biggest shock as #1 UConn falls to Northwestern. Other shockers: #2 Iowa St is bounced by Drake, #2 Marquette is eliminated by Florida and Vermont knocks out #5 Wisconsin. The results for the Sweet 16 and beyond are shown for each game. But unlike the first simulation which featured a 1, 3, 5, and 10 seed in the Final Four, this is a bit more reserved: #2 Tennessee beats #1 Houston; #2 Arizona beats #3 Illinois, and in the end the Vols win the Natty.

Storytelling is at our core 🎥 And marketing should = storytelling. We've helped Southern College of Optometry tell many stories through film 🎥 but I'm always proud of our work to tell the students' stories and what their journey is like. The students always come into the interview sessions a bit nervous, but they leave having told a solid story about their journey, which really connects with prospective students of the school. Prospective students don't want to hear a bunch of fluff from the staff. They want to hear honest stories from the students that are a few steps ahead of them. Embrace storytelling within your marketing, and it will do wonders, I guarantee it. ___ If you need help with content creation and storytelling, send me a DM. We can help you strategize, film, edit, and create content on a regular basis.

I'm excited to announce Seidman College of Business took home 1st place for the first time at the Schlesinger Global - Family Enterprise Case Competition (SG-FECC) in Vermont!! One of many updates to come about this past week. Throughout the week we participated in various types of family business cases from short to long cases, complicated and all within 4 hours to analyze and create a final presentation before being in front of a judges panel for the next 30 minutes. The adrenaline of working in a time constraint and competing with teams coming from 15 countries and 5 continents is something highly unique about this competition. Another aspect is that this was the largest turnout for the competition in all its 11 years. Over the course of the week, we were able to rise from 3rd place the first day, 2nd, then 1st, pushing us into the finals and allowing us to compete in the top 6 against University of California, Berkeley, Bishop's University, Toronto Metropolitan University, Rotterdam University and UP Campus Guadalajara. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/eCTv7X6x I'd like to congratulate all the teams that were able to participate in this competition, as it's a rewarding experience to be a part of such a great family business atmosphere and be able to learn more through each day. #seidmancollegeofbusiness #grandvalley #1stplace #familyenterprise #familybusiness #vermont #globalcompetition #globalbusiness #globaleducation #mapledivision #schlesinger #familyenterprise #casecompetition #undergraduate #undergraduates
