⭐️"I see a red door and I want it painted black..." The Rolling Stones In a totally unrelated story, we picked up our new pullets today. A Gold-Laced Wyandott, a Welsummer and a Blue Maran. These will match our Easter Egger and Buff Orpington. We kept the roosting area and the "outside" area for the hens. They know something new is around and are not too happy about it, but they at least have access to the section that we've covered with tarp. The pullets were in a 4x6 hutch with 20 other pullets and are a little awestruck right now at the room they have. They have double that amount of space all to their lonesome. Tomorrow after work we will sweet-talk them and spend some time with them so they become more accustomed to us. We've missed out on a lot of bonding time in buying pullets rather than getting chicks, but I have a business to run and conferences to attend. 😆 Life is amazing. Another busy day in Brixham, which was bursting at the seams with vessels sheltering from bad weather. Safe means of access in Brixham is difficult at the best of times, but when it’s this busy, it isn’t unusual to have to traverse 3 vessels (and six sets of fishing gear!) in order to get to the vessel you want to get to. Today was all about helping a company apply effective and meaningful corrective action, following an incident onboard. Together with Maritime and Coastguard Agency surveyors, we assisted the company in identifying shortfalls as well as well as how to resolve them. #BlythIndustries #FishingSafety
