I completely resonate with this! Sometimes, the hustle and bustle of bigger cities like Delhi can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to get caught up in the chase. But there’s something about Kolkata that really strikes a balance—there’s a unique charm in its slower pace, rich culture, and lower cost of living. As I build my dream project, NearMeInteriors.com, which connects people with trusted interior designers in Kolkata, I realize that the city’s deep history and artistic vibe are an inspiration in their own right. Here, the focus isn’t just on ambition, but on creating meaningful, lasting connections and adding value to people’s lives. Kolkata gives space to grow, live, and truly appreciate the journey. Every city has its own magic, and Kolkata’s mix of heritage and modernity is truly special. 💡 I’m thrilled to share my dream project with all of you—NearMeInteriors.com, a platform designed to connect people with trusted interior designers right in their neighborhood! 🏡✨ As someone passionate about design and quality spaces, I realized how challenging it can be to find reliable and skilled interior designers. That's why I decided to build a platform that simplifies the process for everyone. Whether you're renovating your home or looking to design a new one, NearMeInteriors is here to make your journey easier and more enjoyable. 🌟 Why Kolkata? Because it’s a city where creativity meets culture, and it’s the perfect backdrop for bringing people together with the best in interior design. #KolkataVibes #NearMeInteriors #LivingMeaningfully #CityOfJoy #StartUpJourney

As an interior designer, witnessing the rise of new apartments in Bangalore excites me, signaling a plethora of opportunities for innovation and creativity in my field. Each new building represents a blank canvas waiting to be transformed into a functional and aesthetically pleasing space. However, as a Bangalorean, this rapid urbanization brings a mix of emotions. The city's already strained water resources and other infrastructural challenges pose serious concerns. The balance between growth and sustainability seems increasingly precarious. Should we halt the construction of new apartments to preserve our resources, or is there a more sustainable approach to urban development that can accommodate growth while addressing these critical issues? What innovative solutions can we adopt to ensure that our city's expansion is both prosperous and sustainable? #bangalore #interiordesign #apartments #solution #sustainable #bengaluru

Do we need walls? The idea of having a space to oneself is a pipe dream for many in the city of Mumbai. The city forces the majority of its inhabitants to share spaces that get smaller and smaller with each passing year. For many, owning or living in an apartment is a way to announce that they have indeed arrived in the city of Mumbai. The typical Mumbai apartment is a terribly cramped space that does not offer its inhabitants the personal space they so crave. Much like the city, the apartment becomes a shared space. The Dining Table doubles up as a work desk or a prep counter for cooking. The Bed becomes a place to dump laundry until it is kept away into a wardrobe only for the cycle to repeat itself in a couple of days. The Coffee Table is where old newspapers are stored under. Every house has a story of how their spaces are multi-functional. Not by design but by necessity. Do these tiny apartments need walls though? The walls in our homes do nothing other than separate space and provide a modicum of sound insulation. Why do we need these walls? The idea of open floor plans and open living seems enticing. However, the lack of privacy and personal space in a small apartment is a huge drawback. This is not an advocation of open floor plans. That is an entirely personal choice based on the lifestyle and the personalities of the inhabitants. But why aren’t our walls doing more? #Designthinking #InteriorDesign #ArchitecturalDesign #SpacePlanning #DesignInnovation #CreativeSolutions #UrbanLiving #UrbanDesign #SmallSpaceLiving #MicroLiving #SpaceOptimization #EfficientLiving #SmartHomes #SmartLiving #TechIntegratedDesign #FutureOfLiving #SustainableDesign #MumbaiDesign

Owning a house is a dream, and interior decoration is crucial for creating a pleasing environment. However, challenges like choosing the right company, high costs, and limited design options can pose significant challenges. By observing this problem Ramakant Sharma and Anuj Srivastava founded Livspace in 2014, an omni-channel platform in Asia that offers a one-stop renovation solution for homeowners, bringing together designers, brands, manufacturers, and contractors for an eCommerce-like, trusted, and predictable experience. LivSpace recently launched “Vinciago,” a premium interior design brand available in major cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Kolkata. LivSpace secured its first funding of $4.6M in December 2014, backed by Helion Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners. In FY23, LivSpace’s revenue surged to ₹1148Cr, with a valuation crossing $1.2B, marking its entry into unicorn status. The owners of the company believe that the revenue is expected to grow by 30% in FY23-24. LivSpace competes with Design Cafe, HomeLane, Arrivae, and Bonito Designs. Holding a 28% market share, LivSpace plans to expand to 100-150 cities and go public by 2025. The Pink City of Jaipur: A Symphony of History, Architecture, and Kabootars 🕊️🌸 Jaipur, the Pink City, is not just a place—it's an experience. From its stunning architectural marvels to its vibrant bazaars, this city has a charm that's hard to describe but impossible to forget. One of the most mesmerizing sights in Jaipur? The flocks of Kabootars (pigeons) gracing its historic landmarks. These birds, often seen around iconic spots like Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Albert Hall Museum, add a dynamic sense of life to Jaipur's timeless beauty. Why Jaipur is Truly Unique: 🏛️ Heritage in Every Corner → The city’s pink-hued architecture reflects its royal legacy, standing as a tribute to Rajasthani culture and artistry. 🕊️ Kabootars Everywhere → Whether flying in graceful flocks or resting on intricate jharokhas (balconies), these pigeons are an integral part of Jaipur’s picturesque cityscape. 🎨 Vibrant Markets → From jewelry to textiles, Jaipur's bazaars are a treasure trove for art lovers and shoppers alike. ☀️ Cultural Warmth → Beyond its structures, it’s the warmth of the people and the energy of the streets that leave an everlasting impression. Why Space Planning is My Superpower One of the most invaluable things I learned while designing in Mumbai was how to make maximum usage of minimal space. If you've high property prices and less space, then just having a skill for space planning isn't enough; you have to become an artist at it. One of the first Mumbai projects I remember distinctly had an abnormally small 500 square feet of area. Every single inch counted, and the end result was one of the things I'm most proud of. That project also taught me that sometimes less really does mean more. Now, when we work in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, that philosophy translates to much larger spaces. Instead of compact living, we're working with sprawling areas where I can apply my space optimization skills on a grander scale. Lately, I designed a 10,000-square-foot villa in Jaipur and paid attention to the smallest details, just as I do in smaller spaces. The lesson? No matter how much space one has, it’s how one uses it that makes all the difference. #SpacePlanning #DesignSkills #InteriorDesign #UrbanLiving #OptimizedSpaces #CreativeDesign #Architecture #SmallSpaceSolutions #GrandDesigns #DesignInnovation #Tier2And3Cities #EmergingMarkets #SmartDesign #SpaceOptimization #LuxuryDesign

Kaali Peeli: A Taste of Mumbai's Soul 🚖 A few days ago, I unveiled the branding for Kaali Peeli: Indian Kitchen & Bar. Inspired by the iconic black-and-yellow taxis of Mumbai, this design encapsulates the vibrant energy and flavors of the city. What went into the design? ●Cultural Symbols: The Kaali Peeli taxi isn't just transportation—it's a symbol of Mumbai's heartbeat, navigating its busy streets. I wanted the branding to evoke the same sense of adventure and authenticity. ●Color Palette: Black and yellow dominate the design, creating a strong visual connection to the taxis while exuding a bold, modern aesthetic. ●Typography: The playful, bold font mirrors the city's dynamic spirit, blending tradition with a contemporary twist. This project was a journey through Mumbai’s streets, capturing its essence in every design element. I'd love to hear your thoughts on how design can transform dining experiences and tell stories of cultural heritage. #Branding #DesignInspiration #VisualIdentity

The Indian design landscape is flourishing, with predictions indicating that its interior design market will double from $31.5 billion in 2023 to $67.4 billion by 2032. This growth is driven by a significant boom in real estate development, particularly in Mumbai, which is becoming a key design hub alongside a growing interest in innovative interpretations of traditional Indian craft. As we embrace this exciting evolution, I want to highlight fifteen Indian design brands that are not only making a mark in the domestic market but are also on the path toward global recognition. These brands, such as Sār, Phantom Hands, and Jaipur Rugs, showcase a blend of heritage and contemporary design, sparking creativity and innovation within the design community. Reflecting on the rise of Indian design, I'm inspired by how these brands incorporate local craftsmanship while adopting modern techniques. Have you explored any of these brands? What does the future hold for design in India? 📈✨ For those interested, here's a brief rundown of a few standout brands: - **Sār**: Focused on blending Indian lifestyle with European design. - **Jaipur Rugs**: Known for intricate handmade carpets crafted by thousands of artisans. - **Phantom Hands**: Fusing heritage with modern aesthetics. As the design scene in India continues to evolve, I encourage everyone to support and engage with these brands for a richer design dialogue. #rendimension #hugoramirezarchitect #renderings #vrtraining For more insights, visit our website: www.rendimension.com Full article "Fifteen Indian design brands worth knowing" Link: https://lnkd.in/gUEijZ5F
