We've just wrapped up our two-day annual planning meeting, and what a year it's been! Celebrating our growth and achievements over the past year on EOS has been truly inspiring. We've exceeded our fundraising and participant service goals, setting the stage for an even more impactful year ahead. Kick off the 4th of July holiday with IM ABLE! Join us for our Rally Point Independence Ride on the scenic Schuylkill River Trail in Wyomissing, PA on Wednesday, July 3rd. This ride is designed to be inclusive, welcoming participants of all ages and abilities. Distances range from 5 to 20 miles, accommodating riders of various speeds—from brisk to leisurely, there’s a group for everyone! We’ll convene at the Brentwood Trailhead of the Schuylkill River Trail, ready to roll out at 4:30pm. Afterward, quench your thirst at Trooper Thorns Irish Beef House, conveniently located just a 2-minute bike ride or 1-minute drive from the trailhead. Join us at the Mid-Atlantic Air Museum on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM for an event you won't want to miss! Whether you're a seasoned athlete, a leisurely walker, or just looking to have a blast, there's something here for everyone. Here's what's in store: - 2-Mile Fun Run, Walk, & Roll: Take on our easy 2-mile course designed for all ages and abilities. -Sprint Duathlon: Challenge yourself with a 2-mile run, 8-mile bike, and another 2-mile run in this thrilling race. - Kaaginator Challenge: Inspired by our founder, Chris Kaag, this obstacle course will push you to your limits. You'll develop and implement adaptive fitness programs for veterans and individuals with disabilities, fostering a welcoming and supportive environment. Ending the week on a high note! 🌟 Patrick Sweeney just achieved a personal milestone: he completed his longest ride ever—102.18 miles—on the bike provided by the IM ABLE Foundation (thanks to your generous donations). "After a life-changing injury, my bike has opened doors to freedom and new friendships, allowing me to accomplish things I once thought impossible. We had a great day on Friday kayaking at Blue Marsh Lake with our veteran friends from the Lebanon Veterans Affairs Hospital! Thank you to everyone who joined us at the Hits for Hope Tennis Tournament! 313 players participated in the largest tennis tournament in the history of Pennsylvania, raising over $5,250 for the IM ABLE Foundation to support our programs and adaptive equipment grants. On Saturday, we held a wheelchair tennis clinic, welcoming both able-bodied players and wheelchair users to explore the world of adaptive tennis. It was a vibrant and inclusive environment, with wheelchairs provided on-site for those interested in trying it out. Check out the amazing photos from the event!
