Hey, #underutilizedrockstar ! What's on your resume? Likely TOO MUCH. I've just seen a 10 pager and let me tell you- I still didn't find the credentials/ skills/ experience I was looking for in it! Focus on what you know! Apply to those jobs (if you MUST. I prefer the backdoor approach!) Sure, have your ULTIMATE RESUME in your back pocket to draw inspiration from, but limit your resume to 1 or two pages that highlight your MOST relevant skills for the position you are applying to when you send that sucker in! OMG CASS! I don't want to rewrite my resume for every job!!! I hear you, but this is what it takes to COMPETE with others in the same space! Or just use the #backdoorapproach

Why do people list how many kids they have on their resumes? 🤔 Seriously, I’m genuinely curious—what’s the rationale behind it? Recruiters don’t need to know if you’re raising two daughters or three sons. 🙅♂️ Instead, highlight what truly counts: your skills, unique abilities that employers can leverage, and detail your previous work experiences to demonstrate their relevance. 🌟 But no, some opt to mention their children’s count and ages, giving just a snippet about their last job. 🚫 That’s definitely not how it should be done! So, what do you think—are there any good reasons to mention the number of kids on a resume? I’m stumped—perhaps you have some insights? 😄

Question: This is mostly for professionals currently working in their careers, but is it preferred for a resume to be more simple (experience, education, black and white) or to be more complex (use of color, a picture, volunteer experience, etc.)? Or does it really matter due to the low amount of human eyes looking at the resume?

AKA - Don't be lazy and follow the process set out. Most candidates don't realize that even the way in which you apply for a job factors into hiring decisions. If you cannot follow directions at the beginning of the process/are difficult to work with that is a pretty good indication that you will act the same way as an employee.
