Good names for both variables and mostly classes is a hard subject when you work in a team and in long term systems The scope of a variable is very limited. So bad naming is not so harmful. Even though, if you comply to DDD guidelines, code will be far easier to read. But classes and namespaces/packages is similar... but harder. For me, it is like ordering your books in a bookshelf. As long as you find them, no matter the criteria. You can even afford chaotic criteria... as long as you can find any existing book. But when you are working in a team and long term projects (they can be in maintenance status) when there are rotation of developers (or when developers change their criteria over time) naming of classes and where to place them (namespaces, packages) is critical to fix chaotic systems Maybe microservices architectures can help to fix this issue (the smaller the bookshelf, the lower the chances of chaos) I think the English saying is: Too many cooks spoil the broth
