Late Bn-Cpy mineralization inside A-qz type vein Photo exhibits late-chalcopyrite and -bornite semi-massive sulfides filling open space within early gray A-qz type vein. Usually hydrothermal fluids use pre-existing structures when the fluid-pressure are no available to generate own facturing framework.

📊 Evaluating #Frothers in Mineral Processing: Where do we start and what do we measure? In the context of my recent post on mass pull reduction in platinum concentration, another aspect merits discussion: #Frother evaluation. The initial step in frother evaluation often raises debate: Should it focus on froth formation and breakdown, or should it prioritize the recovery and entrainment potential? I would love to hear your opinion! ⚗ Both are undoubtedly important, yet prioritization is key in screening. While CCC values and Bikerman cells are useful for the initial screening of frothers in mineral processing, there are limitations. They should be incorporated into a broader assessment framework that takes into account the complexity of the ore, operational conditions, interactions with other flotation reagents, and the complex nature of froth properties. It is crucial to remember that frothers do not function in isolation within flotation systems; they interact with collectors, and these interactions can significantly impact flotation performance. These interactions, however, are not reflected in Bikerman measurements. (I stand to be convinced otherwise 😅) For example, a frother demonstrating excellent CCC and foaminess might negatively interact with collectors, diminishing the overall efficiency of mineral separation. And if we are, for example, chasing a reduced mass pull - how do we know what we are looking for, if we eliminate frothers only based on their performance on foaminess and CCC... Therefore, I prefer an old-school bench float procedure as a more effective method when screening frothers, offering insights that better reflect plant conditions and interactions. Discussion pending...... #MineralProcessing #FrotherEvaluation #FlotationReagents #OperationalExcellence

Qz-diorite porphyry (intramineral) exhibits secondary biotite over the ferromagnesian phenocrysts and groundmass (brown colour). Hydrothermal event goes on development of thin A-qz type veins array and later late-sericite alteration is overprinted. Finally, all event described above appear cut by E-massive pyrite veins.

The BrineRIS project is slowly ending, which means that we have the first laboratory results on lithium recovery from sampled brines. A newly published article by the Politechnika Wrocławska team is already available online. In the paper entitled ‘Assessing the Viability of Integrating Evaporation and Solvent Extraction Systems for Lithium Recovery from Low-Grade Brines’, our researchers analyze the feasibility of enriching low-grade lithium solutions through evaporation and solvent extraction. The article also compares extraction efficiencies from synthetic and natural brines. We strongly encourage you to read their research and conclusions!
