The Chinese city of Shanghai has set itself a target to build a green shipping fuels “filling centre” in its port by 2030 that can dispense up to one million tonnes of green methanol and green ammonia a year for use in the maritime sector. If realised, the giant filling centre would likely become the largest dispenser of green hydrogen-based shipping fuels in the world — and the city has plans to then turn it into a trading hub and a spot market.  The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA) has approved financial support for the "Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster Project" from European funds. The project aims to investigate the possibilities of green hydrogen production in the West Pomeranian region and a connection to the Polish and German hydrogen networks. Singapore is taking a significant step towards a cleaner energy future with the development of a new hydrogen turbine on Jurong Island. This cutting-edge facility promises to power over 860,000 four-room public housing flats and substantially reduce carbon emissions, marking an important milestone in the city-state’s sustainable energy journey. IMI is set to provide a PEM #electrolyser for a new #hydrogen refuelling station at the Port of Klaipėda in #Lithuania, to be developed by EPC contractor MT Group. The IMI VIVO electrolyser will enable the port to produce 500 kg of #greenhydrogen on-site per day. This is equivalent to 127 tons per year while using an electrical input of 3 MW, drawn from sustainable sources. The hydrogen produced by the electrolyser will be used to fuel vessels as well as shore-side equipment. Read the full story ⬇️

Thrilled to share a monumental step towards sustainability in the maritime industry! The Port of Klaipeda in Lithuania has initiated a pioneering green hydrogen project, becoming the first in the Baltic region to produce green hydrogen on-site. Backed by a substantial EUR-10.5-million investment, the project features a PEM electrolyser from IMI, installed at a new hydrogen refuelling station developed by MT Group. With a 3MW electrical input from renewable sources, the electrolyser is set to produce 500kg of green hydrogen per day, amounting to up to 127t annually. This initiative not only reduces the port's reliance on fossil fuels but also encourages other maritime operators to explore green hydrogen. 🇩🇪As part of the public consultation for the second H2Global tender organised by the BMWK, the Belgian Hydrogen Council has written a letter 📧 to the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK) and the H2Global Foundation/HINT.CO GmbH requesting to restate the Belgian ports as Point of First Delivery for its tendered goods. The first H2Global pilot auction was concluded on the renewable #ammonia tender and allowed the Belgian ports to be a Point of First Delivery. Out of the 5️⃣ bids considered for renewable ammonia imports, 1️⃣ project proposed delivery to the port of Antwerp. As such, Belgium ports already showcased their importance as European #import #hub and provide landing flexibility for hydrogen and its derivatives, not only for the Netherlands and Germany but also for the rest of Europe 🇪🇺 We feel they should be able to continue their role as landing point in the future H2Global tenders! 🚢 Port of Antwerp-Bruges North Sea Port Port Oostende

A tender for the development of a hydrogen valley in Belgium’s Wallonia region has been announced by the Walloon Administration.The tender is titled, “Service market aimed at supporting the Walloon Administration in the specific governance of the hydrogen sector and in the establishment of a hydrogen valley in Wallonia.” Published on May 29 2024, submissions must be completed by 21 June. The valley concept will encompass a comprehensive ecosystem where hydrogen production, storage and usage are all integrated and it will act as a pioneer model for other regions. The objective of the tender is to find an ideal partner to assist the Walloon Administration in governance structure, hydrogen valley development and stakeholder engagement. https://lnkd.in/eVd248zW
