Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease, also known as peroneal muscular atrophy, is a common autosomal dominant hereditary motor sensory neuropathy, caused by abnormal peripheral myelin protein, that presents with muscles weakness and sensory changes which can lead to cavovarus feet, scoliosis, and claw foot deformities. Diagnosis is made with nerve conduction studies showing low nerve conduction velocities with prolonged distal latencies in the peroneal, ulnar, and median nerves. So our blood vessels express this peptide, our nerves express this peptide, our brain express this peptide, and we know that this trigeminovascular system is very important for migraine pathogenesis, the way that the migraine occurs, migraine presents, and that's why this peptide was started.
