“Pretotyping”: my spell check always changes it to Prototyping!! But, pretotyping is essential before prototyping to understand the other person’s perspective of your idea. We are starting a new note for documenting patient priorities using the Patient Priorities Care model. Asking a couple of our hospitalist friends on what they want to see in the note is “pretotyping” and helps us make the note more user friendly.  Taking a simple idea like this to implementation requires a systematic approach which we all do but don’t realize.
