Meta is launching its next-generation Al model, Llama 3, later this year. 🚀🚀🚀 It will power the virtual assistant in the Meta Ray-Ban smart glasses, allowing the assistant to handle more complex tasks and respond more naturally. Llama 3 is an open-source model that will also come in smaller sizes that could be installed on local hardware such as phones or smart glasses. It is expected to be as or more powerful than OpenAl's GPT-4. #artificialintelligence #ai #trends #AR #focuzar Arun Prasath S https://lnkd.in/gf-SVTnt

Meta has released a major AI update for its Ray-Ban smart glasses, bringing new "Look and Ask" capabilities to users in the US and Canada. The "Look and Ask" feature allows users to ask questions about things in their line of sight, and the glasses will use the captured image and their AI model to search for and provide an answer. While this represents a significant advancement for Meta's smart glasses, the AI features are still considered beta and may have reliability and accuracy issues. Beyond "Look and Ask," the updated Meta AI assistant can also be used for common voice commands like making calls, sending messages, and playing music. However, using the voice commands in public may draw curious looks from others. :) #meta #ai #metaglasses #metaai #aiglasses

Meta is now building interactive AI into their Rayban smart glasses. This is by far the best form factor integration so far for wearable AI, but I'm far more interested in what it means in relation to our lives being mediated by a large language model (LLM) layer. Soon, everything we see will be filtered through the lens and bias of an LLM. The LLM we choose will have a large influence on how we "see" the world around us. This is why countries like France are very focused on creating their own LLMs, ones that don't necessarily have the same leanings as Meta, Google, Microsoft, or Openai (all US companies). But beyond bias, let's look at it in reverse. Now, these multimodal LLMs will have access to everything we see, every question we ask, essentially the vision of our lives. This will have huge implications for "LLM influence," privacy, and my personal interest: the construction of the fully realized "digital self." #ai #meta #rayban

UploadVR discusses the latest features and updates related to the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. These glasses, launched at Connect 2023, are an advancement from the previous Ray-Ban Stories model and come with several upgraded features. The key highlights of the article are: 1. Introduction of Meta AI: The Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses now include Meta AI, a conversational assistant powered by Meta's Llama 2 large language model. This AI is considered more advanced than existing assistants like Alexa, Siri, or Google Assistant. 2. Enhanced Features Over Previous Model: Compared to the original Ray-Ban Stories, the new glasses offer improved camera quality, superior microphone array, water resistance, and the ability to livestream to Instagram. 3. Multimodal AI Capability: The new "Look and ask" feature in the early access program allows the glasses to process queries based on both speech and visual inputs. This can be used for tasks like suggesting captions for photos, translating signs in different languages, or assisting in cooking. 4. Limited Early Access Program: Currently, the "Look and ask" feature and multimodal AI are available to a limited number of users in the United States, with plans for a broader rollout next year. 5. Real-Time Search Feature: Another significant update is the real-time search capability, where the system uses Bing to answer questions about current events, sports scores, and more. This feature is being phased into all US-based customers. 6. Availability: Despite these advancements, there is no confirmed timeline for the availability of even the audio-only Meta AI in the 14 other countries where the glasses are sold. The early access and additional features remain limited to the US market for now. https://lnkd.in/gffYyfNM

In a recent interview, Mark Zuckerberg emphasized Meta's commitment to tools that boost creativity and allow more people to engage in the process. He discussed: - Meta AI strategy - AI Studio and creator tools - Meta's innovations - future features - the role of open source 1. Meta’s AI strategy: Rather than focusing on a single AI, Meta aims to create multiple AI agents for creators and small businesses, allowing them to develop their own AI to engage with their communities. The AI Studio is a step towards this vision. 2. AI Studio and creator tools: AI Studio offers tools to create customized AI agents. Its goal is to provide creators with the ability to manage fact-based inquiries and opinion-based interactions, maintaining authenticity while scaling their engagement. 3. Future of creators and social media trends: "The shift from feed-based media to more personal messaging interactions is one of the biggest trends I'm seeing in social media," say Zuckerberg. Meta aims to help creators manage fan interactions through AI, saving them time. 4. Hardware innovations: Ray-Ban Meta glasses are discussed as potential replacements for mobile phones. They can take photos, answer questions, and send messages. Future iterations may include heads-up displays and holographic capabilities. 5. Future hardware developments: Zuckerberg highlights the potential of neural interface wristbands and their integration with smart glasses, allowing discreet communication and control. 6. Future of AI Studio: AI Studio features may include advanced content recognition, translation and dubbing, enhancing accessibility and authenticity across languages. 7. The role of open source in AI: Zuckerberg believes that: "The future is not going to be one AI. It’s going to be a lot of AIs with a lot of different people creating different things." This approach supports the idea of AI agents tailored to individual needs and preferences Overall, Mark Zuckerberg emphasizes the impact of new technologies on creators and the evolving landscape of creative jobs.
