Pro fan tip: when selecting a ceiling fan for your next project, consider the room's square footage. A properly sized fan will ensure optimal airflow and avoid awkward aesthetics. Here's a quick guide to choosing the right size fan: - Small rooms (up to 75 sq. ft.): 36 inches in diameter or smaller - Medium rooms (75 - 350 sq. ft.): 42 - 48 inches in diameter - Large rooms (over 350 sq. ft.): 50 inches or larger in diameter Save this post for your next fan project! #lightingdesign #ceilingfans #protips

Glass Rooms (meeting rooms), hard glass surfaces, a 'minimal' and 'raw' look may be what is creating the harsh reality for a lot of employees around the world. 🙌 As nice and open as a glass room can look, as difficult it can be to get the right acoustics. Opposing hard glass surfaces creates a perfect setting for standing sound waves and long reverberation times. Combine this with a minimal design (usually meaning very little and hard furniture), and you have a recipe for an acoustic mistake. ❗ All is not lost though, as glass rooms can be done quite well acoustically by choosing the right ceiling, placing plenty of acoustic diffusers (like furniture) and making sure that big opposing surfaces aren't all glass and completely flat to reduce standing waves. #Acoustics #NoiseControl #RoomAcoustics #BuildingAcoustics #ReverberationTime

Ephemerality The ephemerality of light is a fundamental aspect of its nature, making it both captivating and challenging to work with in design. Unlike solid materials and forms, light is transient, constantly changing in intensity, direction, and colour as time passes and conditions shift. This fleeting quality gives light the power to transform spaces and can deliver moments that are unique and unrepeatable. Low morning sunlight streaming through a window casts long, warm shadows that fade as the sun rises higher. The same scene can feel entirely different under midday's stark brightness or twilight's gentle glow. Or the way a hotel lounge is experienced and 10am versus 10pm, when natural light is absent and low-level, sophisticated illumination is applied. This temporal nature of light means that no two moments in a space are ever exactly alike. It's the difference between night and day. #design #designthinking #interiordesign
