I recently had the chance to chat with visionary artists Julian Gresham and Aster Verrier about their collaboration, Grid Extrusion. The two have created a striking industrial piece that shifts how we interact with light in our spaces. It’s a modular work of art—one that you can modify as your space evolves. What’s even more interesting is the way they’ve used 3D-printed materials to bring unexpected depth to the design, creating a light fixture that feels alive, constantly shifting depending on its surroundings. I couldn’t help but be inspired by their philosophy: “Light doesn’t just illuminate. It shapes the space, adds atmosphere, and brings the environment to life.” Their modular approach to design invites users to interact with their surroundings in a completely new way, offering a depth and level of customization I haven’t seen in lighting before.
