They are like a bearing in need of a gentle push, and once set in motion, they have the power to reach sustained independence and even uplift others in return and become a ‘BRAND”. 🌈 Today marks my first day returning from the holiday period. Happy New Year! 2025 heralds a year of transformation. As we welcome the New Year, sharing a poem that I penned during the festive season in symbolising hope and excitement of new beginnings. It celebrates the shared purpose and collective journey amongst those extraordinary hidden JEDI advocates who continue to boldly stand for truth, commited to championing justice, equality, diversity and inclusion to make a true difference for the betterment of all - particularly for the marginalised, vulnernable, oppressed, disenfranchised and forcibly displaced. 💜 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 In corridors of change where shadows dance, We stand united, ready to advance. As JEDI warriors in modern light, Championing those hidden from sight. Through wisdom gained and battles fought, We've learned the lessons time has taught. That voices silenced must now rise, And truth must pierce through darkness' disguise. In boardrooms, streets and digital space, We pledge to set a different pace. Where diversity blooms like spring's first flower, And inclusion grants us collective power. To those forcibly displaced by fortune's cruel hand, The marginalised across every land, We extend not just hope, but action true, Building bridges strong and pathways new. Justice flows not like gentle stream, But surges forth in our shared dream. Equality - our compass bright, Guiding us through transformation's night. Happy Mother's Day to all Moms and to Mother Earth!💚 This Mother's Day and in the years ahead, I want to dedicate my focus not only to celebrating all the strong mothers out there but also to nurturing and protecting our Mother Nature and environment. I recently read an article that said by 2050, Earth's temperature won't be sustainable for human beings. I don't care how accurate the stats are, but looking at the environment today in 2024, I'm sure this could happen sooner or later. It's actually alarming. I've taken a pledge to do my bits from now on. We keep saying, "We should plant trees," but we never do. It's the comfort of the AC we sit in; it's not our priority to go out, find a place, and plant trees, or to stop wastage of stuff, buying new clothes, or not throwing garbage on the street. I see it every day, most neighbors do it. Did I have the courage to stop them? Nope. We think it's rooted in nature and the government should do something about it, but is it possible? No, unless we all take small steps towards saving our Mother Earth. I don't want our future kids and generations to grow up in a world that's not clean, peaceful, or bearable. I'll be doing my research on how to take those small steps towards adopting sustainable habits and protecting our Mother Nature. You can do the same. Let me know how we as humans can come together and make a difference. I read an amazing line recently: "The two important days in the lives of human beings are - The day she was born and the day she finds out why." Let's make a difference while we are here. Acts of Kindness in Everyday Life One need not look far to find examples of humanity's enduring goodness. It’s not often that perspectives from across the globe and such disparate realms of the social sector come together to talk about #climate solutions. 🌍 This week marks #ClimateWeekNYC, held during #UNGA, and it convenes thousands of people and organizations across sectors seeking to move the needle on #ClimateChange. 💚 While the threat of climate change looms large, it's heartening that there exists a network of dynamic and diverse leaders and organizations around the world poised to meet it. 💡 One encouraging message we'll be sharing at #ClimateWeekNYC? The increase in donor support for climate action we've seen in our work. #Philanthropy can play a pivotal role in addressing the climate challenge— both in terms of bending the curve on 1.5 degree Celsius, and its impact on intersecting issues like #PublicHealth, #GenderEquity, and livelihoods.
