What happens if the main heat exchanger of an liquefier was incorrectly designed? In the below case, the inlet temperature of the expanders are much lower than the designed values(S1 vs S2), it results 15TPD liquid(LOX or LIN) loss. The physical rule is: Low expanders inlet temp leads to low enthalpy drop.

With the temperature dropping the density of the charge air is further increased. This will enhance the output and the efficiency of the Diesel engine. 👉 This application uses the 𝗞𝗔 𝟮 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 to drain the charge-air cooler.
