Companies are constantly seeking ways to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently. One of the most effective ways to achieve this is by using and trusting an expert. At 𝐅𝐈𝐌𝐒, we recently completed a 12-month project with a Directly Authorised (DA) company, helping them find the right network to call home. This experience has reinforced the importance of involving a recruiter early in the process to save time and effort. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐬𝐭 The level of trust and open communication is crucial in the recruitment process and in this instance has been built over a 10-year period. However, in this instance, I wasn’t brought into the equation at the start. The company, like many others, opted to conduct its own explorations first, which is understandable but not always the most efficient approach. 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 When I was eventually involved, I recommended a solution that took into account all the research they had already undertaken. Interestingly, this option hadn’t even been considered by the company until my involvement. While we ultimately found the right solution together, the process took longer than necessary. Had I been involved earlier, we could have saved the company considerable legwork and time. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 It’s essential to acknowledge that when making such impactful decisions, companies should perform their own due diligence. This independent research is not just beneficial but necessary—it helps reinforce the value a recruiter adds to the process. By understanding the landscape themselves, companies can better appreciate the insights and expertise a recruiter brings to the table, ensuring that all decisions are well-informed and comprehensive. 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 The key takeaway from this experience is the importance of involving a trusted recruiter from the beginning. A recruiter with industry knowledge and experience can enhance the decision-making process, providing tailored solutions that align perfectly with a company's needs. This not only saves time but also ensures that the best possible decisions are made, benefiting the company in the long run. 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 In the end, we achieved a positive outcome, but the process could have been more efficient. However, it’s also crucial for companies to conduct their own due diligence, as this strengthens the overall decision-making process and highlights the recruiter’s role in delivering the best solution.
