"RIP" is a commonly used term to express condolences for those who have passed away. We hope that the departed soul may find peace in whatever realm it has moved on to. However, this raises an important question about the living. Don't they deserve to live in peace as well? This isn't to diminish the respect we owe to those who have died, but it's worth considering that, in the afterlife, there are no struggles like fighting or politics. It is we, the living, who endure hatred, racism, conflicts, and political strife. If we truly care about the sentiment behind saying "RIP" to someone who has died, we should also take steps to ensure that people can live in peace while they are alive. This means actively working to reduce hatred, combat racism, resolve conflicts, and engage in politics constructively. By doing our part to foster a more peaceful existence for those around us, we honor the spirit of "Rest in Peace" in a way that has tangible effects on the world. I mean no compulsions but give a thought.

⚽ Domestic abuse can rise by 38% after big games⚽ Source: Women’s Aid Federation England “Domestic abuse soared by almost 50% after England won World Cup matches in 2022" according to The Independent. While football doesn’t cause domestic abuse, it can exacerbate and make existing abuse more frequent and severe. And whilst I may be looking forward to the footie later 🏴 ⚽️🤞, I am aware there will be many who aren't. For those who are fearful or in danger…please do reach out. Help and support is available & you are not alone ❤️ ▶ The national domestic abuse helpline offers support for women on 0808 2000 247, or you can visit the Refuge website. ▶ Women’s Aid also runs a helpline : helpline@womensaid.org.uk. ▶ If you are experiencing feelings of distress, or are struggling to cope, you can speak to the Samaritans, in confidence, on 116 123 (UK and ROI), email jo@samaritans.org, or visit the Samaritans website to find details of your nearest branch And tomorrow, when we're back to work...let's just take a check in on our colleagues around us 💜 . Let's not forget the darker side of football, as sadly, it's real! #domesticabuse #1in4 #domesticviolence https://lnkd.in/esncGHHc

I have been working with individuals suffering from the symptoms of post-traumatic stress for almost 30yrs years. I assist clients in reprocessing traumatic memories and events.
Overcome the symptoms of post-traumatic stress. A short video for veterans, but everybody's events leading to traumatic memories are different, but everybody encodes traumatic memories the same way. The real beauty of psycho-sensory techniques is that you don't even have to talk about the traumatic memories. We don't talk about the memories because that's why. Together, we can't change the why. I want to know how you create these unpleasant memories. I can change the how, because I understand how traumatic memories are encoded electrochemically on the basel lateral amygdala. Once the how is changed, there are no more symptoms of post-traumatic stress. For more information, visit www.themanseretreat.com or send me a message. #PTSD #PTSDtherapy #mentalhealth #childhoodtrauma #emotionaltrauma #veterans #policeofficers #frontlineworkers #healingtrauma https://lnkd.in/eC_6Zefm

Agents, Your June Mission, Should You Choose to Accept It: Fathers and Father Figures Fathers are sometimes viewed as secondary in parenting compared to mothers, but those of us who had or have amazing Dads can tell you that’s not true. A good father is critical and equally important to a family's success and the development of children and society. In Exodus 20:12, one of the 10 commandments says to, “Honor your Father and your Mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you” Reflecting on our own experiences, we can acknowledge the profound impact of our father’s love, support, and consistent encouragement. These invaluable qualities have not only shaped our self-esteem but also instilled in us the confidence to fearlessly pursue our dreams. Explore the Find Mission Dashboard https://lnkd.in/gx9YzdUE for some secret mission ideas to honor your Dad or other Father Figure this month. Remember, your unique perspective and ideas are highly valued in our community. If you have a special way to honor your Dad, we encourage you to share it with us. Remember to report your secret mission accomplishment on the website's “My Secret Mission” Dashboard.

Today is nine-eleven… but only if you’re American. For everyone else, it’s eleven-nine… because what logical person would say it in month-day-year, rather than a simple chronologically ascending day-month-year? It’s phenomenal to me to think there are grown adults that weren’t even alive when the planes hit New York’s twin towers, given I remember so vividly watching news coverage in my unfurnished Auckland North Shore duplex having moved to New Zealand from Ireland a month earlier. Eleven years later, much like the Poles have done with Auschwitz, the Yanks had managed to make a melancholic tourist trap of NYC’s Ground Zero. The friend that I was visiting in my mother’s hometown at the time, a good year before Freedom Tower was completed, urged “smile” as I posed by the fountains adorned with the names of almost 3,000 people who perished. It felt weird. But I still bought some memorabilia – a NYPD t-shirt, and fire department cap. Such was the reverberation of the attack in 2001, that the date is synonymous with so little else. Be it the major Chunnel (a portmanteau of Channel Tunnel) – the underwater lifeline connecting England to France for Brits who want to catch a train to Euro Disney or shuttle their car to mainland Europe, despite Brexit (a portmanteau of its own) – fire of '08; or even Make Your Bed Day. Really you should dress your bed every day. You never know when someone might pop round to snoop around your drawers. Perhaps it’s now a time to honour September 11’s celebrated Quiet Day – embrace silence in a world of noise for just one day – and marry it with No News is Good News Day, where unplugging from a frenzy of violence in news feeds for twenty-four hours may help your frazzled brain refresh, fit for fighting tyranny tomorrow. #NineEleven #TragedyTourism #NoNewsIsGoodNews
