➡ #Throwback to the ITX grand opening in March! Back in March, we were at the inauguration of the new IT service desk in Huntsville, Alabama. The Solutions Center provides a convenient walk-up location for users to: ➡ Pick up RSA tokens ➡ Reset PINs ➡ Obtain PIV cards ➡ Get password resets ➡ Access small peripherals (keyboards, mice) ➡ Pick up FBI-issued laptops ➡ Utilize hoteling stations (for visiting personnel) This one-stop shop is designed to streamline IT support for our staff and ensure they have the resources they need to be productive. 🖥️ Tech Alert: CrowdStrike BSOD Causes Worldwide IT Blackout Today, a bug in CrowdStrike's Falcon sensor led to widespread Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors, causing a global IT blackout like WannaCry back in days. This incident affected countless organizations across various industries. Key takeaways: 1. One small bug can have enormous consequences 2. Coding is a highly responsible job 3. IT systems worldwide are deeply interconnected This event shows how crucial careful coding and thorough testing are in our digital world. IT professionals play a vital role in maintaining the stability of our tech infrastructure. Lessons: - Never take coding too easy - Production Sucks - If WannaCry happens call Marcus Hutchins, if BSOD happens call Satya Nadella to fix it 😄 What are your thoughts on preventing such large-scale incidents? #TechIncident #ResponsibleCoding #ITSecurity #BSOD

Our preliminary research at American Incubator Utopia shows PKOC is a Unique standards-based mobile credential that is basically free, vendor skeptical, and compatible across multiple mobile devices and access control systems. Our industry Analyst think PKOC (Public Key Open Credential) is a new standard that will meet a 30-year industry challenge and strip away much of the complexity and cost. It will establish a fundamental industry wide change in Access Control Systems·
Have you heard of PKOC? I’m starting to hear people say that PKOC may be the future of access control credentialing. Here, Ed Chandler with Security By Design, Inc. discusses the benefits to both operations and security. Larry Anderson describes PKOC as “a standards-based mobile credential that is essentially free, vendor agnostic, and interoperable across multiple devices and systems. It is a highly secure access credential that can live on a mobile phone, in a plastic access card, or in any device capable of generating a public-private key pair”. Jason Ouellette and the team at Software House Access Control + Event Management house are playing a key role in helping to bring this technology to the mainstream.

What's the cost of a mixed estate network? It wasn’t just slow speeds that were impacting The Leverhulme Trust’s 3,000 users; their 10 year old mixed estate network was both inflating the time taken to manage the Trust’s network, and increasing the risk of a major security breach. Their legacy network was a combination of Meru and HP hardware that was failing to provide the foundations needed for today’s classrooms. Slow speeds meant that: 🙋♂️Teachers could not use digital resources in classrooms ❌Coverage was poor ⌛Providing a passable level of connectivity was becoming more and more labour intensive and time consuming for the IT team Find out how Leverhulme Trust transitioned to an agile, streamlined, cloud-managed wireless network in our full case study: https://lnkd.in/efurjcPF #MultiAcademyTrusts #UKedChat #SchoolNetworks
