Starting a new career and building a business has so many considerations, big and small. Recently, I was asked to describe my artwork and logo and how it represents me, my cause and my community. My answer is as follows... The lady in my logo represents a woman of the world, a symbol of diversity and strength. She embodies the shared experiences of women from all walks of life, reflecting the beauty of our differences and the power of our shared sisterhood. As half of the population, women have unique experiences that are both diverse and interconnected. One such experience is menopause, a natural and significant phase in a woman's life. It's a time of transition that can bring about physical, emotional, and psychological changes. Embracing menopause as a part of our collective journey as women is essential in fostering understanding and support for one another. The Lady in my logo stands as a testament to the resilience and spirit of womanhood. She is a universal symbol, transcending cultural and societal boundaries to embrace women of all backgrounds. Her presence is a celebration of our shared joy, struggles, victories, and the collective wisdom that comes from being part of a global sisterhood. In a world that is often marked by division, the representation of women from diverse backgrounds coming together under the banner of sisterhood is a powerful statement. It speaks to the strength that comes from unity, understanding, and inclusivity. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Collectively, let’s forge a more inclusive world for women. We can all #InspireInclusion by doing the following. When women aren’t present, we must ask: “If not, why not?” When women are discriminated against, we must call out poor practice. When the treatment of women is not equitable, we must take action. And we must do this each time, every time. Happy International Women's Day #inspireinclusion There have been so many great events this week, and still many more to come over the remainder of the month. It's amazing to hear so many personal stories from women brave enough to share, in the hope of inspiring and building confidence in others. There is much more awareness about female challenges such as menopause, childcare, caring responsibilities, fertility, maternity, not having allies in the workplace, feeling like their is a glass ceiling for their career, etc. but there are so many people focusing on helping break down those barriers, raising awareness and creating allyship. Every story, every piece of support for a female colleague, every positive word, every person who increases their awareness about female barriers is helping to #inspireinclusion. Don't forget the power of networks, surround yourself with those who will help to raise you up. Support others and support yourself. 🙆♀️
