“We’ve signed up to use 1 Agency for the next X months / years” said the client… Pro’s - Build a solid relationship - no competition so one funnel of candidates Con’s - “Typically” they’re generalist and will struggle with niche requirements - They get lazy / complacent - Competition drives accountability to deliver (especially for us sales folk) - what happens if they’re not delivering - then where do you go? IF you’re getting frustrated with this scenario as a Hiring Manager, I can understand the premise to use one agency however, as per several of the roles we’re devliering on currently - it’s because of the reasons above! Happy to have a chat with any Medical Affairs hiring managers in this situation - always feels greater proving there is top quality profiles out there! 👌

Here's a PR tip for the day: Be ready for rapid response opportunities. I would expect that every organization has a couple news topics that are highly-relevant to their service or product. For example, when I worked in life sciences, recalls and drug shortages were two topics that seem to surface regularly in the news. To be proactive, my team worked with some of our SMEs to develop rapid response pitches in advance of the news hitting the airwaves. This allowed us to jump on opportunities more quickly than our peers.

May is coming to an end, and I wanted to share something from our Director of Operations, CheRenee Zaragoza, MS. She summed it up perfectly with her quote of the month: "We have to be proactive partners, and not just a reactive vendor." To her, being a proactive partner means anticipating needs and prioritizing the client's best interests. She takes a very hands-on approach with our clients. She makes a point of getting in the trenches to really understand their workflows, needs, pain points, and data. She tailors her communication style to match each client's preferences. Even though engineering may want an answer to a question immediately, she will block it if she feels the client has other priorities, such as closing out their recruitment period. If they provide feedback, she ensures it's tracked and promptly addressed. At the end of the day, our top priority is making our client's lives easier, not harder. And that means not simply checking off boxes. What's your take on being a proactive partner?
