Are you a provider in PD16?
THIS IS IMPORTANT! Please read and share with leadership!
PD16 is developing a Safety Action Plan RIGHT NOW. Post-Crash Care is one of the focus areas of the grant – with these DOT grants, other EMS agencies have received funding for traffic incident management courses, anything for the safety of responders and strategies (vest/signs/vehicles), extrication tools whole blood, and PHTLS training, etc.
PD16’s plan is in public comment status now – you will note that it has a strong focus on safety countermeasures and engineering input for infrastructure changes. It is engineer-heavy and they are welcoming and hoping for input from EMS. PLEASE review the document and provide feedback.
The Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO) is pleased to announce a public comment opportunity for the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) draft Action Plan. This initiative aims to enhance transportation safety throughout the region, and public input is paramount in shaping the future of our transportation infrastructure.

In addition to reviewing the draft Action Plan, community members are invited to participate in an interactive survey. This survey allows participants to pinpoint locations of transportation safety concerns on a map and provide detailed feedback on areas needing improvement.

2moCan't wait to network with everyone and see what we can learn from each other! Here's a description of this session which I am extremely excited about presenting. Safety's primary goal is to prevent injuries, and in most cases, we achieve that goal, though our rare failures often overshadow our frequent successes. While it's essential to analyze failures and apply lessons learned, it's equally important to highlight and replicate our successes. This presentation explores how to define success, promote success reporting, and, most critically, ensure continuous success. Although organizational success will be touched upon, the session's core focus is on equipping field personnel—the ones who need safety the most—with the training and tools to consistently achieve and sustain success.
