#bookrecommendations for #newyear2024: FICTION. The last time I had read a fictional book was Dan Brown's Origin in 2017. Having gone without reading fiction for a better part of a decade was unusual for me but I was not finding a gripping read.... that is until I discovered Sophie Cousens. It was an impulse buy while checking out at Target when I saw her latest, "The Good Part" and decided to give it a try. After *inhaling* that book in less than 24 hours, I ended up ordering ALL of her books! I would describe her genre as romantic dramas with a life message. She reels the reader in with the characters of the book, keeps you hooked with the plot, and leaves you with a message to ponder on, a learning that readers can apply in their lives. So if you're into some feel good yet soul- searching fictional reads, go checkout my latest discovery (and my favorite fictional author)- Sophie Cousens. #bookrecommendations #fictionbooks #feelgood

There’s a reason why romance is such a popular genre in fiction. I love a good Jane Austen novel. I read Sarah M. Eden, Esther Hatch, Lauren Willig, Lisette Marshall, Elise Kova, and others. What do you love about romance? Let me know in the comments. #romance #romancefiction #books #bookstagram #writingcommunity #reading

"Just Another Myth" is a captivating collection of stories inspired by Greek, Norse, and Indian mythology. The author's dedication to reimagining ancient tales adds depth to the storytelling. The collection offers a diverse and rich reading experience, inspiring readers to discover the magic within themselves. The blend of classic mythology and contemporary leaves readers questioning if these myths will fade into obscurity or continue to inspire generations. #criticspace #bookstagram #booknow #bookstagram #writersofinstagram #writer #BOOMchallenge #bookreview #bookrecommendations #bestblogger #inkerspress #books #booklover #bookworm #reading #poetrycommunity #poetrylovers #classicbooks #bibliophile #bookblogger #bookaholic #goodreads #amazon #mybookfeatures #kindle #bookstore #bookshelf #bookishcommunity #bookstgram

🖊️ Our review of 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley. 📖 “But I don't want comfort. I want God, I want poetry, I want real danger, I want freedom, I want goodness. I want sin.” Without a doubt, ‘Brave New World’ is one of the most well-known novels by an English author. And it’s difficult to think of ‘Brave New World’, and its place in dystopian science fiction, without also thinking of other, similarly accomplished authors such as George Orwell, or Ursula Le Guin, and what they have also added to these, and other related, genres. I confess I came to read ‘Brave New World’ much later than I intended (I feel it is one of those novels that is on everyone’s TBR list, but perhaps sometimes never quite makes it to the top). If this sounds familiar, I urge you to take the plunge. It is easy to read, but thought-provoking. It is quite short but encompasses the entire world and lifetimes that we can barely imagine. Overall, it is undoubtedly worthy of its position as a vintage classic. 💬 Have you read 'Brave New World' before? #RossTurnerAcademics #bravenewworld #aldoushuxley #bookreview #bookcommunity #classiclit

Develop the habit of reading for yourself in case you ever feel disinterested in your current life or reality and wish to travel to a different realm. I cannot stress enough how this one habit of yours will transform every aspect of your being, including your personality and thought process. Every person can find their niche in the literary world; all you have to do is discover what interests you. You can choose between the Fiction and Non-Fiction genres based on what interests you. The world of books is huge and limitless, with a plethora of possibilities to choose from, including science fiction, fantasy, romance, and suspense thrillers. Suspense thrillers and historical romances are two of my favourite genres. Even though, I enjoy exploring and have ventured into various other genres as well. I enjoy reading non-fiction, and Judith McNaught and Linda Howard are my two personal favourite's. Choose a book that piques your curiosity, and books will be your best companions ;) #reading #books #literature

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and that you feel rejuvenated after a long break! 🐣 📖 My #3 author tip is all about the back cover of your book. ✔️ Your back cover should keep the design features of the front cover. ✔️ Check out the back covers of other books in your genre to guide your design. ✔️ Any back cover images should reflect the content of the book. ✔️ The text on the back cover should include a short description to help people decide whether the book is what they want, and to tempt them to buy. Avoid spoilers. ✔️ The back cover font can be different to the front cover font, but should be similar in design. ✔️ For print books, ensure you keep a band towards the bottom which will show the ISBN bar code, price and logo. If you have had some positive reviews from beta and ARC readers, you may like to include brief extracts of these. For example, What others have said about (this book): “couldn’t put it down”, “love the surprise ending”, “so inspiring”. Even better if you’ve had a good review by someone respected in your field who is happy for you to name them on the cover. A helpful way to show the genre, is to say If you like (name of author) you will love this (genre of book). For example: If you like Agatha Christie novels, you will love this country house murder mystery. Or: If your favourite reading is Chekhov and Tolstoy, you will love this historical family saga set in pre-revolutionary Russia. Do you have any tips to add that you use when creating the covers for your books? 🦋 Maggie Shaw eregendal.com Author & publisher of fiction and poetry You can purchase my books on my website I Amazon I Lulu #author #micropublisher #cheshire #ukauthor #fictionauthor #ukpoetry #blogwriter #selfpublishing #fictionuk #recoverywriter #recoverystories #visionaryauthor #greatreads #fantasyadventure #backcover #authourtips #eregendalbooks

Advance praise from a beta reader: "You have a gift for explaining/describing this with such simple clarity. It's profound and yet completely attainable for anyone with a curiosity about what we are beyond the story of who we are." And here's what I wrote in the book intro: "Writing books about nonduality is a constant struggle between the mind thinking it can’t be done and it happening anyway. That you’re reading this is proof once again that life just unfolds through the body-mind and the illusory self has nothing to say about it!" "Seeing No-Self" was written anyway, feedback is coming in from beta readers, and it should be available on Amazon in June.
