Halfway through! 10 days behind and 10 days left of our business trip to the USA. This isn’t our first trip here, but we’ve gained some new perspectives 🇺🇸 First of all, it’s our first time in Miami. Amazing city! However, there aren’t many universities that teach computer science. Well, it’s a good thing we stopped by! Another thing we've noticed is how highly developed the financial industry is here. Maybe we just didn’t notice it before, but after Canada, we’ve got a sharper eye for these things 👀 But the nicest thing so far is how everyone cares about Ukraine and asks how we’re doing. We are proud to say that we are still standing and even working. Not just saying it, but proving too! 🇺🇦 Overall, all the meetings we've had so far have been great, and the cooperation has been so smooth that it inspired us to improve even more! We won't tell you what it is for now, but stay tuned for updates!🤭 #usa #softwaredevelopment #businesstrip #incora

President at SET University. Reinventing higher education to empower future tech innovators. Bridge-Builder between Tech, Academia, and Government. Advocate for Women in Tech.
Hope it's not too late for a year-end summary post. Right? This post has been on my to-do list for a few weeks now, and today I caught myself thinking, "It's good to have many important projects and tasks, so you need to postpone some less important ones." At that moment I felt such a deep gratitude for all the opportunities we have at SET and the impact they provide, and I understood – here is the format for my post. Check my list of things I am grateful for and write down yours in the comments, or at least not a list but a couple of points So, I'm thankful for: 1. Being alive and having the energy and health to work and create SET University and, along with that, rewriting the story of tech education in Ukraine and the world. 2. All the people working side by side with me on this. Maybe I don't say it too often, but I truly appreciate each member of the SET team and all our friends and partners. 3. Every student who started studying at SET and every project that applied for our entrepreneurial programs. You all give me solid faith in Ukraine and our future! 4. All the hours spent trying to find tickets, being on the road, waiting in border queues, or just somewhere in the fields. Of course, it's sad that we can only travel like this now, but I'm sincerely grateful because every journey is an opportunity to talk about Ukraine, our technologies, about SET. 5. For spending a lot of time at home with family in Ukraine. Even today, to reward myself for an interview with major international media about education (hope to share the article soon), I went for a walk in the woods with my grandma. That's where I took this photo. P.S. I know the second paragraph may sound like an excuse, so this year, I plan to write more systematically here. And I promise that you will see not just announcements of our programs and events here. So, please, like this post and leave a comment to make sure you don't miss my posts here.

Yaroslav Zubko moved to New York in 2017 after building up his tech career in Ukraine. "In 2015, I traveled to New York for a two-week business trip. It was the first time I'd ever left Ukraine, where I grew up. I looked at all the huge buildings in the city and couldn't believe my eyes. New York was even more impressive than it seemed in the movies. In 2016, I was offered a role as a director of product design at a New York tech startup called UpTop. I hadn't been actively applying for US jobs at the time. They supported me in getting a visa, and I moved to NYC in June 2017," he said. "But the tech culture is very different in the US than in Ukraine. I've had to navigate these differences and assimilate into the work culture. The US is a great place to work with many opportunities. I love that it's progressive and more culturally diverse than Ukraine. In Ukraine, the tech sector is more consultancy-based. Money comes from overseas, from companies who outsource their IT needs to us. In the US, I feel that big companies are developing original ideas and patents, while in Ukraine, the biggest tech companies provide consultancy services," Zubko shared. "In general, I think efficiency is put on a pedestal in American culture. People value working as much as possible and making as much money as possible," he said and further added that Ukraine will always be his home, but he would be staying in the US for the foreseeable future. "After the war, I see myself returning to Ukraine and living between the US and Ukraine. I'd like to use my skills to help rebuild the country, like a phoenix coming from the ashes." Innovations & Disruptive technologies will create a façade of intelligence and then critical thinking will be the most sought after skill. People who can ask intelligent (dumb too) questions will be imp. as all answers are available through AI.

Speaks about Software Outsourcing | Fuelling Business Growth with Innovative People Strategies | Speaks on Business Growth & Strategic People SolutionsSpeak
This is a downgrade in my opinion. The power of the human brain has not even been fully comprehended and we understand that it’s likely more powerful than anything man can ever make. So instead of humans to learn and better develop their super brain, they are thinking of replacing that brain with AI (another man-made imitation that’s been trained with limited data). If this continues and someday in the future our internet fails (which will likely happen), I wonder how it will be for people when they’ll have to fall back to their default untrained brain. AI is a great achievement, true. But let’s keep it away from our brain. Leave it aside as a tool, but don’t try to interconnect it with our brain. If only man kind will acknowledge the creator of humanity the same way we acknowledge the creators of AI, the world will be a better place.

Professor CIT (TUM), Member Scientific Board - Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence
It is like our current AI. All the knowledge it was trained on but absolutely no understanding of the content. He will not be an expert in all subject but a universal interface to a search engine.... big difference, What would make him an expert is a previous basic training on domain subjects to develop models for understanding and reasoning ... this would make the interface just his online "details-library". We need to work on AI that actually understands things.... but spoiler, this will require a new set of training data that actually includes better description of the trained label beyond it is "42". #AI #statisticalparrot
