Lack time during the day to fit everything in? Sleep less and drink more coffee... I am only joking. I sometimes sleep less than I should but would never advise overdoing it with caffeine. So, here are instead the few things I do that allow me to work at a sustained high level of output for 10-14 hours a day. Plan your day the evening before by listing out the tasks you need to get done the next day. Slot out specific times for each individual task and keep this constant every day so that these tasks become a habit. Get a standing desk. Sleep and enough of it. 7 hours is my sweet spot. Go for a walk halfway through the day to get some sunlight and fresh air. Trust me on this, the more sunlight and movement you get the happier and better quality your life will be Work out once a day, and go hard - doesn't matter the time of day, just as long as you do it. Eat healthy. My diet consists of lentils, cottage cheese, butter, eggs, rice, and chicken/ground beef. Yeah sorry Mom, no veggies or fruits for me. I have found these things to be the foundation in my life for setting me up to have consistently productive days. What are some of the things you do?

Sunday Rituals! Why are Sunday Rituals Helpful? In my opinion, it helps me avoid decision fatigue. During the week whether it’s at work or at home, a lot of decisions need to be made. That’s why Steve Jobs wore a uniform. It was one less decision he had to make. Also, it sets me up to be better prepared for the week. More time for leisure, less time focused on the small things that take up a lot of time! Ideas: - Create a meal plan for the week or meal prep - Make to do lists for the week - Review schedule. Don’t forget those dinner plans you made a month ago! - Pick out a few outfits for the week or at least make sure your necessities are clean! - Grab the groceries you need! Tips: - Be flexible. If you don’t get to something and it must be done throughout the week, it’s ok! - Create some habits that allow for a less overwhelming Sunday Ritual like keeping up with laundry throughout the week - Add in a fun personal hobby to the Sunday Ritual. I've been in a lot of intense environments with long hours, and I think the worst part of diminishing returns is that you stop doing the things that will restore you. I used to have a mantra about it--"The first thing that happens is you forget." I'd say it when I was coming out of pulling an all-nighter, dragging myself into work, not eating right or drinking enough water, and waiting until the weekend to catch up on sleep. You forget how good it feels when you do the right things. Do yourself and the people around you a favor. 1️⃣ Have a healthy celebration ritual when you hit a hard deadline--preferably a lean meat and a veggie with some awesome sauce or seasoning. 2️⃣ Make touching base with people who restore you emotionally part of that celebration. 3️⃣ You did the big important thing. Don't get suckered by small stuff that can wait--go to sleep.

🖐 5 things I'm NOT going to tell you to do when we work together: ❌ STOP drinking alcohol Absolutely not. I drink wine, beer and enjoy a cocktail every now and then. Most of us enjoy it in moderation. Restricting would only lead to a binge of some form. ❌ Stop eating carbs Many people do well with a few more quality carbs in their system! A healthy balance, tailored SPECIFICALLY to you, is what's needed. No blanket "cut out carbs advice" here thank you very much! ❌ Workout 6 days a week Unless you totally WANT to, AND have the ability to recover from those sessions. Chances are though, if you're a highly stressed, time-short leader, you're not going to benefit from MORE exercise. Choosing quality of movement over quantity and focusing on rest and recovery leads to better results! ❌ Get up at 5AM Again, unless you want/enjoy doing so! I'm a huge advocate of more sleep. We should ALL be getting 7-9 hours of high quality, restful sleep, no excuses. I've even told clients to pull back on a few workouts a week, to give them more time for sleep. The outcome? Better and easier results ❌ Eat boring food This is my pet peeve. As someone lucky enough to be raised by an Italian mother, there is no room for such a thing as "boring food" in my household. And definitely not for my clients! If it doesn't taste good, you won't eat it consistently. And if you don't do it consistently, you won't sustain the results. 💹 I'm all about sustainability, and create delicious AND nutritious meals that work FOR your body, that you can enjoy week-in, week-out.
