Avesi Partners Closes Second Fund at $1.35 Billion, Introduces Performance-Based Profit Sharing Avesi Partners, a lower midmarket private equity firm focused on healthcare and business services, has successfully closed its second fund, Avesi Partners Fund II LP, at $1.35 billion. This represents a significant increase from their debut fund of $884 million closed in 2021. The new fund, which was oversubscribed and closed at its hard cap, includes a substantial commitment from Avesi itself, demonstrating strong alignment with investors. Managing Partner and CIO Chris Laitala, formerly of H.I.G. Capital and Lindsay Goldberg, highlighted the firm's success in identifying high-growth businesses and partnering with founders to accelerate growth. Capital was more concentrated in larger funds than in previous years, as numerous firms moved upmarket with above-target funds. Healthcare and life sciences VC fundraising dropped compared with 2021 and 2022, but outperformed the asset class, representing 22.1% of total VC dollars closed. The Healthcare Funds report offers a comprehensive guide to 458 healthcare and life sciences specialist managers across both PE and VC.
