Our #ActiveAgingWeek challenge is approaching quickly! Encourage residents to login and pedal on the CyberCycle starting September 30th. Megan Conway-Goniprow , our Director of Senior Living Partnerships, shares her 7 tips for success in engaging residents for this challenge: 1. Encourage new riders to join! 👫 Participating in a group challenge with a common goal is a great way to meet others. Pro-Tip: Set them up with a Rider ID prior to the challenge. 2. Involve Staff to join in on the fun! 🏆 3. Take advantage of our Promo Kit 📣 . Print off the informational flyers and post them throughout your community. 4. Use the provided bike sign-up sheets in the promo kit 📝 . Allow residents to reserve a time-slot on the bike so that the bike can always have someone pedaling! 5. Rewards! 🎁 Give rewards to residents to encourage them to ride. Highlight your top male/female rider, riders in specific age brackets, or add their name to a raffle for every 5 miles they ride. etc. 6. LOGIN ON THE BIKE! 🚴♂️ This is an important tip - miles completed in guest mode won't go toward the challenge. 7. Have FUN! 🎉 Use this event as a fun, refreshing way to engage residents, riders, and staff. I created Do This More Often (DTMO) to remind our viewers and supporters to prioritize doing the things they enjoy more often. By featuring such a broad spectrum, we emphasize that wellness and self-care look different for everyone. DTMO promotes positivity, health, wellness, self-care, and a sense of community. We understand that life can get overwhelming, making it hard to find time for the things that make us feel good. DTMO offers a gentle, hopeful reminder that during tough times, there's a community out there also seeking positivity and good energy.

I need your help 🙏 : Over the next few weeks I hope to speak with as many family caregivers as possible! For context: These past few months I've been diving deep into eldercare. It's a space that's near and dear to my heart, inspired after watching my late paternal grandparents age-in-place and now seeing it unfold today with my maternal grandparents. I've spoken with 100s of providers, organizations, and family members as I've explored many of the problems with aging in the US. Lately, I've begun honing in on a few unmet opportunities to better support family caregivers (different than the amazing service that current care coordination solutions provide). Supporting our aging population takes a village. And for the family caregivers, it can be a massive burden but also the greatest blessing all-at-once. It's something you don't truly understand until you're thrown into the situation first-hand. I'd love to chat with all of the family members who are currently or previously took care of an aging loved one. It’s been a minute, LinkedIn tribe. I’ll jump in with a controversial thought. Sometimes, being the only one doesn’t make you a precious commodity. It makes you the dinosaur that hasn’t yet gotten the memo. Healthcare in the United States has long been a topic of discussion. It is the single most likely life event to cause a family to either lose a home or require a bankruptcy. It is one of the highest worries for single parents and one of the most common worries for the aged in the United States. Clearly, even our elite athletes are feeling the lack of something. Maybe now, as we are looking at massive political strife in this country, it’s time for us to come together around some key issues. As student loans approach the United States Supreme Court, and our athletes are taking advantage of basic healthcare in the Olympic Village, maybe we know that education and healthcare should rise to the top of the list, along with term limits, for the vast majority of us in the US.
