Today, we're shining the #SolutionSpotlight on Jodhpur's Heat Action Plan! The plan is one of the first of its kind in India, and was was developed collaboratively by the Mahila Housing Trust, NRDC India, and Jodhpur Nagar Nigam North. Launched in April 2023, the Heat Action Plan was designed to provide the context, best practices, and actionable solutions that local government and key stakeholders need to minimize the impact of heat waves. The plan includes both short-term intervention and long-term strategies for reducing vulnerabilities to heat, like Extreme Heat Resilience Alliance (EHRA) member Mahila Housing Trust's cool roof deployment. It includes innovative components that map community resources like urban health centers and parks that can help residents find relief from extreme heat.
