Demonstrate deep self-awareness of your skills and career trajectory 2. Essays are crucial – invest time in multiple drafts and introspect, introspect, introspect. 3. For career switchers: Highlight those transferable skills! 📌 ISB Scholarship Opportunities 1. Merit-based awards up to 100% tuition waiver 2. Scholarships don't vary with rounds now. 3. Need-cum-merit options for applicants from lower-income backgrounds 4. Diversity and donor-specific scholarships to explore 📌 ISB walks the talk when it comes to building a varied class: 1. No rigid quotas for different backgrounds 2. Current class boasts 47% women and a 56% engineer to non-engineer ratio 3. Non-traditional backgrounds are genuinely welcomed The Golden Rule: "Introspect, be self-aware, and let that shine through your application," Amit advises. Senior Manager - Fraud Analytics & Strategy at Bank of America | MBA(BE) | NSIT | Ex-Credit risk | Major Finance buff
Story of MBA admissions in India every year - A Candidate, for instance, Pinky - [] dedicates at least a year to preparation. [] pays a hefty sum for a formal coaching. [] pays for registrations, which if you include all major exams/colleges, amounts close to ₹50-60k. When results start to get out - ➡️ College A shortlists Pinky, requiring ₹1 lakh as an expression of interest, which she pays. ➡️ The next week, Colleges B and C announce their results, asking for ₹75k each. Since both are better than A, she pays. ➡️ While waiting for College C, her preferred choice, College A selects her and demands ₹3.5 lakhs for the trimester fee within 7 days. She has no choice but to pay. ➡️ Now, Pinky prays and hopes for College C’s acceptance before College B demands their trimester fee and before College A's refund deadline. ➡️ Meanwhile, College D, on par with C, postpones its interview process, making it impractical for Pinky to wait. The ₹5k registration fee for D is lost. Point is - [1] Since MBA has always been a capital intensive degree, why don’t these institutions (public, private both) follow a synchronised approach where they present their results within days of each other rather than in gaps of weeks or months? [2] Why do they ask for almost 15-20% trimester fee, just to float the name on the shortlists? [3] Most of the students struggle to balance their ROIs. Why is this not accommodated while setting the yearly fees? Yes, it’s a matter of supply and demand, but we need to recognize when supply becomes exploitative. It's time for a less chaotic admission process or more realistic ‘expression of interest’. Only so that students like Pinky can truly focus on excelling rather than bearing such unnecessary burdensome practices. #mba #mbaadmissions #mba2024

How Delhi University changed my life and its one of the best undergraduate places to be! Taking admission in Delhi University was one of the best decision that I ever made and has changed my life in so many ways, for which I'm beyond grateful. The university offers so many different variables which helps in the holistic development of students: Society Culture: - Societies are inherently one of the most unique facets of the colleges in Delhi University - They not only give you an elementary introduction to a domain or corporate set-up, but also give you a peer set, impart soft skills, provide learning ambits & different opportunities like competitions, events, initiatives, etc. - My experience with college societies helped me immensely with my entrepreneurial stint Interconnectedness: - It's fascinating how the entirety of DU is seamlessly interconnected with each other (platforms like LinkedIn have only increased the same) - This unique connected set-up provides an access to students from other colleges, faculty, opportunities and more. Crowd: - It would be an understatement to say that Delhi University harbors some of the most brilliant minds in this country - the crowd in Delhi University comes from the most diverse backgrounds, places, qualifications, and experiences. There is literally so much to learn from everyone wherein everyone is constantly pushing each other to do better Faculty; Opportunities; Engagements and More: - I've been fortunate to have met great teacher's, who have always supported me and DU is filled with a faculty which is ever-supporting and kind! - Not all about college is productivity. While DU offers a lot of scope for students to grow it is equally rich in making college life memorable from fests to cafes to hangout spots to traveling to the daily bustle, DU is so incredibly beautiful. These are just a few pointers, but words will fall short to substantiate how amazing this institution is. Have been feeling super nostalgic these days and wanted to write a piece regarding the same!

Hey folks, I recently graduated! Back in 2021, 2024 felt like a distant dream. But here we are, already six months into 2024. While I won't miss making assignments and practical files, pursuing B.sc. Mathematics (Hons) was indeed a dream come true. Here’s how I made the best out of my three years at Delhi University: 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆: I remained dedicated to my studies, striving to excel in my coursework and gain a deep understanding of mathematics. Alongside academics, I joined college societies and participated in various extracurricular activities. I believe finding a balance between these two aspects gave me the best college experience, allowing me to broaden my horizons and meet new people. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒘𝒕𝒉: Through various experiences, I learned to be confident in my own skin and embrace my individuality. Initially, I often felt under confident and unsure of myself. Taking up leadership positions and roles of responsibility in college helped me overcome these feelings and grow as a person. 𝑭𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒚 𝑷𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏: While most of my peers are heading into the corporate world or preparing for UPSC, I am following my passion for academia. Even though this initially freaked me out, with time, I realised everyone has a different journey and it's fine to choose a path less travelled. The world of academia may not be the most glamorous path, but to me, it offers a profound sense of fulfillment and purpose. Thank you to everyone who supported me on this journey. Here's to new beginnings and the pursuit of knowledge! 🌟 #Graduation #DelhiUniversity #KMC #ClassOf2024 #NewBeginnings

You loved reading. You enjoyed your social studies subjects the most till 10th class. You chose arts. You were told your degree is worthless. If you're a man, you were also told that it's a degree fit only for women. You were told you couldn't clear any competitive exams with a mathematical component to it. You were told you're only fit for UPSC as other options through arts weren't attractive. If this is the story you've been living so far, do not hesitate in exploring options apart from UPSC. If this is the story you've been living so far, please do not shun options like CAT/GMAT thinking that it would be too hard for you. You've passed your 10th class mathematics exams and you can catch up. You might find it harder than the average engineer would but you get extra points for academic diversity to cover up. The corporate world needs to clear the echo chambers. It appreciates diversity now. B-Schools want you. Companies want you. You will always fail if you dismiss yourself, so believe in your worth and capabilities. Try. Throwback to my MBA journey interview with Collegedunia and Anurag Priyadarshan that went viral a while back (link in comment section below): #cat #gmat #arts #du #ug #mba #iim #bschool #corporate #job #work #linkedin #india
