Transitioning from India to Dubai: My Journey Towards Growth (a small step) !! Leaving behind a comfortable yet stagnant role in India was a pivotal moment in my career journey. The decision was daunting, but it ignited a fire within me to seek new horizons. Dubai beckoned with promises of growth, diversity, and fresh challenges. The transition wasn't seamless. Adapting to a new country, job market, and lifestyle posed its share of obstacles. Yet, armed with determination and fueled by my passion for embracing diversity, I tackled each hurdle head-on. Networking became my lifeline during this period of transition. Consulting with seasoned professionals from Dubai, India, UK and the US provided invaluable insights and guidance. Their collective wisdom underscored the importance of humility and the power of building meaningful connections. Amidst the uncertainties, my wife stood as a pillar of unwavering support. Her belief in my abilities and our shared vision fueled my resolve to persevere. Together, we weathered the challenges, staying steadfast in our pursuit of growth and opportunity. After 1.5 months of relentless effort, I finally secured a promising role—a testament to the power of persistence and strategic planning. Reflecting on this journey, I'm reminded of the transformative power of taking calculated risks and embracing change. For those considering a similar leap, I offer this advice: stay confident in your abilities, embrace change with an open mind, and prioritize building relationships over preserving ego. Strategic planning, coupled with unwavering determination, can turn challenges into stepping stones toward success. Remember, the journey to realizing your dreams may be filled with twists and turns, but each obstacle is an opportunity for growth. Embrace the unknown, stay resilient, and never lose sight of your ultimate goals. #CareerTransition #EmbraceChange #PersistencePaysOff

Success tips for doing business in UAE. • In business meetings, Arab professionals often begin with general discussions before delving into business matters. This gradual approach helps build comfort and trust. It is considered impolite to insist on discussing business matters immediately and such directness should be avoided. • Foreign entrepreneurs must know how they treat women in the workplace. Examples include: Not all UAE women are comfortable shaking hands with foreign men. You need to wait for a woman to put her hand out first before putting forth your own hand. It is also not acceptable to touch a woman even in a friendly manner on the shoulder or other places at any time in the office. It is common for men and women to occupy separate areas within the office. As such, it is advisable to allocate distinct sections of your office space for male and female employees respectively. • If an Arab invites you to their home, it is polite to accept the invitation and take the chance to connect with locals. Your host is likely to be generous and genuinely interested in learning more about you. However, you should avoid debating politics and religion as your opinions might be regarded as ill-informed or even offensive, even if they seem acceptable to you from a Western perspective. • Mastering simple Arabic phrases for greetings and everyday interactions can enhance your experience as locals typically respond warmly to such efforts. However, remember to use the language respectfully. • Arabs are hospitable and place a great deal of emphasis on an outward expression of politeness and quiet demeanour. They often avoid directly refusing proposals, which requires you to pay more attention to how they say things. If the response is ‘Leave it with me’ or ‘I’ll think about it’, it is likely an indication that the project may not progress further. • When interacting with Arabs, avoid situations that could cause them to feel embarrassed in front of their peers. Being mindful of this will be appreciated if the individual recognises your consideration. • While Dubai is considered a cosmopolitan city, it is still an Islamic state and follows Islamic culture. It is important for foreign companies to respect this and be informed of the Islamic traditions in business. In Dubai we are all rich. And if you don't have money you should better live somewhere else. Besides, women have no rights here. Excuse me? Sometimes I really can't believe what I hear when it comes to the Emirates and Dubai in particular. As a German, Reverted Woman in Dubai, I can assure you: - I am not rich - I still live well here - I can wear what I want - I can do what I want - I can be who I want Dubai is a fantastic place of diversity where you can choose how you want to live. Like everywhere else, it depends on your ambitions, your goals and your perseverance. I would even say the Emirates are one of the few places that actively support people to build a successful business, thanks to low taxes, quick setup, and a fast-paced environment. And maybe you should also consider that not everyone measures a good life by money and luxury. So, next time you wonder what life here is like, just ask someone who lives here! PS: What do you think about Dubai? #personalbranding #entrepreneurship #storytelling #personaldevelopment #thoughtleadership #dubai #uae

Most of us carry a notion of hierarchy in our heads. Most of us have not examined this notion consciously, either. There are some societies in which this trend is much more pronounced: the tendency to believe that someone in a position of authority "must" be right, "must" know everything, "must" be obeyed etc. India is one such place, for the major part. It need not be so. Over the years I have developed a much more realistic attitude to hierarchy, both my own and others: you have reached where you have and I have reached where I have basis our unique life experiences, but our experiences don't cancel out each other's. Far better for us to pool our wisdom and knowledge and do something that moves us both forward. From my international moves, I also see that in more egalitarian societies - I would specifically call out Switzerland, from among the countries I have lived in- such values and attitudes resonate more sharply. What's your experience? #musingsofamorning #hierarchy #equity Image: a flame of the forest tree in full bloom in Dubai.

Masculine energy is often characterized by qualities such as assertiveness, logic, and protection. It's the force that drives us to take action, to provide, and to solve issues. In its purest form, masculine energy is not about domination, but about being a pillar of strength and reliability. Understanding the interplay between masculine vs. feminine energies is paramount for cultivating a fulfilling and balanced relationship. It's not about men versus women; it's about understanding the essence of these energies within ourselves and how they complement or conflict with those of our partners. But, balance is crucial. By communicating, understanding each other's roles in a relationship, and leaning into your feminine energy (if you are a women), all of this creates a frictionless bond that eventually helps with problem-solving when issues arise. #matchmaking #dating #datingadvice #dubai #datecoach #relationshipcoach #mydubai #DXBMatchmaker #dubaimatchmaker #datingcoach #expats #dubailifestyle #Dubai #DubaiSingles #energy #masculine #communicate

Helping Executive Leaders in Medical & Healthcare Technology Companies Locate, Uncover, Identify, Diagnose, & Eradicate Hidden Deficiencies Preventing Commercialization Effectiveness & High-Levels of Customer Adoption
I have been to Dubai many times, and it always makes me smile about the culture and society of the normal everyday people here. When an older woman or man comes on the metro train…young men and women…. Always get up off their seat and offer it to the older person. Older meaning… 50 and above. America needs a mindset transformation of doing business with a mindset attitude like this . I hear the word “integrity” everyday… but I don’t see it regularly in actions from people… How a person does 1 thing… is how they do everything! Let’s change our society 1 person at a time… by transforming our mindset. And it could start by small gestures like I have witnessed every time I come to Dubai. #mindsetmatters #culturewarrior #societyandculture #mindsettransformation

Canadians and Indians are very different when it comes to business and work culture. Hofstede details the differences in country comparison tools. https://lnkd.in/eCqcHugx Canadians prefer a flat business hierarchy while Indians are generally opposite. Canadians display about 3x more individualistic orientation while Indians are 3x more collectivist. Achievement motivations are most similar. Canadians accept more uncertainty in general. Long term orientations are similar. The indulgence scale is new to me however also illustrates a wide gap between each culture. Can Canadians and Indians work well together? Of course. Case by case.

Great cities attract ambitious people. You can sense it when you walk around. In a many subtle ways, the city sends you a message - you could do more; you could achieve more. Dubai represents what humans can achieve when we dare to dream big. Surprisingly, these messages can be different for different people - above all, you should make more money. There are other messages too, of course - you should be better looking. But the clearest message is that you should be richer, you should be smarter. But it's a terrible place to be poor. It teaches us invaluable lessons about resilience, resourcefulness, and the strength of community. It offers you the privilege of connecting with incredible individuals who understand the struggles and triumphs of making it big. What's your Dubai story? #dubai #bigcities #dreambig
