If you had to describe your community in one word, what would it be? Small? Quaint? Busy? Despite how you identify it, there is one thing in common: in some way, it left an impression. At I&M, we support the communities that our customers call home. Why? Because these are the same neighborhoods our team calls home and work too. Read more: http://ms.spr.ly/6046lBSEj

What an invigorating morning it was at the #Edcon conference! Our team had the honor of joining forces with the insightful Brett Waller and the dedicated members of the Seattle Police Department for a panel discussion on a cause dear to us all: Community Safety. In our conversation, we delved into ways to enhance the safety of our residential communities. We discussed a range of strategies, brought our collective knowledge to the table, and concentrated on the newest methods, technologies, and resources. Our aim was to bolster neighborhood safety, working hand in hand with community partners and leveraging available resources. However, this is merely the beginning of a much larger conversation. We believe in the power of community and collective wisdom. So, we're curious: What are your best tips for fostering safety in multifamily communities? Share your strategies and experiences below. Let’s continue the dialogue and together, create safer, more secure neighborhoods. #CommunitySafety #SafetyFirst #multifamily Washington Multi-Family Housing Association

President and CEO of Women's Affordable Housing Network (recovering Tax Partner in Affordable Housing industry)
The latest episode of WAHNcast features an incredible conversation with Commissioner Eileen Higgins of Miami Dade. Her candid and insightful discussion was both honest and impressive, showcasing her remarkable confidence and resilience. Here are a few highlights from our chat that I found particularly inspiring: Her Best Advice: On dealing with critics, Eileen says, “Let them have one chance to complain and listen to them. Let them be heard.” It’s a powerful reminder that while it’s important to listen, you don’t have to let negativity consume you. Facing Inequality: Eileen describes the challenge of being treated unequally as a woman as “like swatting flies.” This reminded me a lot of stories I hear at Women's Affordable Housing Network (WAHN) - the ability to continue moving forward with the eye on the end goal. Senior Projects Innovation: Co-living spaces designed for both affordability and sociability. It’s forward-thinking solutions like these that can make a real difference in our communities. I love Eileen’s goal of meeting 50 people a week—it resonates with my own networking goals and underscores the importance of connection and engagement in our professional lives. #WAHncast #Leadership #Networking #WomenInLeadership #CommunityInnovation #Inspiration

She delves into her impactful work with innovative mixed-income projects and transformative community initiatives. An especially insightful part of the discussion is around logical interaction between government, legislators, and the housing authority to ensure budgeting, permitting and more do not hold us to the development of new projects.
