The Dunn School embodies hands-on, innovative, and out of the box learning. The Dunn school is a place where you are able to ask questions like what is the best way to learn Anatomy? I would say it is taking apart an animal under the guidance of a professional to learn the intricacies of dynamic organ systems. In this photo I am manually inflating the lungs of a sheep that I had recently removed in the butchering process. This was the hands down most educational experience I had developing an understanding of the anatomy of a mid-sized mammal like myself. Furthermore, Dunn school has allowed me the opportunity to partake in a long-standing agricultural tradition existing in the Central Coast of California. Processing the sheep, taking it from a living animal and turning it into pieces of meat I then ate Allowed me an insight into the world of meat production that I couldn't have possibly had without it. It gave me a new respect for life, and a new understanding of the ecosystem. I like many people took the agricultural economy for granted and was benign to the Intensive labor required. I have only hit the tip of the iceberg but with the mindset and taste for learning done has allowed me to develop I am eager to learn more. #DunnSchool #CaliforniaAgriculture

Every Science Student who went to one Secondary School or the other remembers this classic - Essential Agricultural science or ComprehensiveAgriculturalscience This book covered everything from crops to livestock (and maybe a few too many diagrams of the digestive system ). But textbooks aside, what was YOUR most unforgettable #AgriculturalClass memory? For me, it was definitely the manner every student was made to cut grass when they fail and they were asked to repeat a class or when a student did a gruesome offense which was against the School authority This portion of land was then used to Cultivate corn, yam etc. Another unforgettable event was in my university when every student clears and plant a row of corn 🌽 irrespective of your course It was a compulsory for everyone during the second year for a 2 point course The appropriate time the lecture would come mark the field is nit always known However, every saturday it was more of going to do hard labor on the farm and getting vegetables to prepare as soup I often got waterleaf, snails, jute leaves(ewedu).it was kind of hilarious 😂 and challenging when you see guys and ladies forming big girl going to farm with cutlasses and hoes This are some events Iganmode Xstudent and Feder University of Technology Akure Feel free to share yours: Was it a hilarious farm field trip? A science fair project gone wild? An inspiring lesson from your favorite teacher? Or the manner at which agricultural Secondary school teacher dresses to school ? If you didn't any Secondary school at all, don't be left out. Kindly share various agricultural activities was carried in your village? Keep it short and engaging. We would love to hear Let's reminisce in the comments! Tag a friend who always aced their Ag exams! Kindly tag your Secondary school also! #TBT #AgClassMemories #SecondarySchoolLife

The educational system is designed such that there is not so much of educating the #educators (teachers) in schools. School owners, principals and other stakeholders involved prioritize #students which isn't bad, but the teachers who will be with them in classrooms need to be trained too in order to impact these students better. Over the years, series of trainings are being organized for students, curriculum is being adjusted and new tools introduced for learning. All of these are potent but won't give the results we desire if #teachers are left with outdated knowledge. I'm glad that in recent times, the narrative is beginning to change as we are getting more aware of the need to engage teachers more just like we do students. On the 5th of September, I participated in a Teachers Training Summit organized by Slow Food Community. It was centered on "Living Laboratories (school gardens) as a Tool for Teaching and Learning Agricultural Science". For over 6 hours, we were enlightened on #gardening and agriculture in relation to nutrition and #foodsecurity and how better to handle agriculture in schools such that students have a good understanding and are interested in the subject. Thereafter, we had a practical session which further aided the participants (teachers and students) knowledge on the subject. 💚💚💚 #AgroFutures #Teachers #Gardens #AgriculturalEducation #Students
