September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize young patients and to support the ongoing fight against childhood cancer. Childhood cancer is difficult to develop therapies for due to the rarity of cases, the distinct biology compared to adults, and the need for treatments that are both highly effective and minimally toxic to growing bodies. At MyCural, we are dedicated to advancing research and developing innovative therapies that are effective and mild. Together, we can raise awareness, accelerate research, and work towards a future where childhood cancer is treatable. 🎗💛 #cancerresearch #cancertherapies

Introducing cancer care strategy to bend the cancer curve for large employers | emerging benefits champion | breast cancer advocate
🚨 Just published findings from American Cancer Society, as a follow up to the 2024 trends and insights: Incidence rates are spiking among Gen X and Millennials in 17 of the 34 cancer types. (Yeah - I’m in there, and yeah it is alarming) What employers should be on the look out for now - not later: ✔ These populations represent ~66% of the U.S. labor force today – and that share will grow. ✔ Current healthcare systems are not prepared to effectively manage those with elevated risks. ✔ Cancer is already the top cost for employers and likely to increase even further without stronger interventions, as younger generations age. Cancer strategy needs to, more now than ever before, look at what needs are in front of them, and what is coming. Early detection will save lives. Read the full ACS press release https://lnkd.in/g_VjpFdu and full study published in The Lancet https://lnkd.in/g32gH-8E

Today is National Cancer Survivors Day For survivors of cancer, life doesn't always go back to 'normal' after the cancer is gone. We're funding Dr Gareth Hathway, from the University of Nottingham, to undertake research to investigate the causes of ongoing pain in childhood cancer survivors - this could lead to new ways of reducing long-term pain. Thanks to our donors and staff at Advent International, we recently announced funding for five new research projects in child and adolescent #CancerPain. This research will be vital in improving the journey of young patients, both during and after cancer treatment. Today is National Cancer Survivors Day. From the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life, the term "survivor" is used for people with a history of cancer. On this day, we honor those living with a history of cancer and acknowledge the contributions of their families, friends, healthcare providers and cancer researchers. AICR funds research on cancer survivorship and provides guidelines to reduce cancer recurrence. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/3U8HKVL

This study focused on the emotional, physical, emotional, practical, and social survivorship concerns experienced by those who have been diagnosed with metastatic cancer and advocates for whole-person care.
